Morning everyone,
I have been reading this forum quite a bit, now that I have a Polaris. Here’s a back ground on my 2005 Sportsman 700 EFI Dale Earnhardt JR. model. I bought it a couple of months ago for $1500, a guy just didn’t want it anymore. Turns out there are a couple things wrong with it, ended up putting in a new rear axle, handle bars, hall effect speed sensor, replaced fluids and some other minor things. I used this site a lot for research on what the problems might be and how to fix them.

A question I have for you is that when I turn the key to the on position but do not start the ATV "HOT" is flashing as well as the check engine light and the service wrench. When I start it the "HOT" reading goes away as well as the check engine light. I called a dealer and he said that as long as it goes off right away that it’s not a problem, just like when you turn your car to the on position with out starting it the check engine light and security light come on. This just started happening after I installed the hall effect sensor.
By the way this ATV halls the mail…..
