I am a little confused. I am a member of many forums ranging from electronics through to antique tractors and buildings renovations but have recently had problems with 2 North American forums. No need to mention them by name!
On one I was censored for using the word "damn", but not in a bad way….like, I said re the temperature in N. America, "it must get damn cold up there".
On the other forum I was actually banned after being accused of being a "troll". The only troll I knew of lived under a bridge as I recall….so I wasn’t one of them!
However, I note that on this forum people use mild language with no problems. eg "piss** off".
That is fine with me but I just don’t understand the double standards. Most of my swear words and my adult children’s swear words were learned from American movies and TV shows and yet some people get offended by the word "damn", which by the way, I would comfortably use in mixed male/female company without a problem here in Australia.
What is going on?
Just regional differences or what?
