So after much consideration, I have come to the conclilusion that power steering has become a "need" for me due to some elbow and wrist issues I am having. Through physical therapy, I have learned that my grip strength has been affected in at least my right hand. Not to mention the pain I experience in my elbows and right wrist during exertion. If I went on a trip today, I don’t think I’d last more than a couple days riding any kind of challenging terrain before I would have to throw in the towel. I had PS on my old Rubicon and it made a world of difference. Up until I recently sold it I would take it around the block every so often and the difference was amazing. All this isn’t to say I don’t just want PS. I absolutely do, but I think I’m justified in changing machines now much more than I was.
So here’s what I’m thinking. I’m looking for a solid, very lightly used , very low miles / hours 14 or 15. I mean, as long as I’m trading up for PS I might as well trade up for the improved suspension and wider stance… Right? lol. I found a (this will make Ridgway happy) GREEN 2014 with only 300ish miles not too far away. He bought it as new old stock 8 months ago. The guy’s CL ad says he wants 8k for it (yea… I know). I shoot him a message and he considers 6k and then says he would do 6500. I told him 6k is what I got, which it is. I’m hoping he’ll decide that 6k is better than a machine he doesn’t want. We’ll see. In the mean time, the hunt continues.
