Hey! That’s deep!

Finally swamped it, I even got it on video (hopefully posted by Monday). Well half swamped, the belt housing got completely full of sandy water and subsequently grease from the weights. Managed to get it out of the hole under its own power, but had to tow it out of the pond and trailer it home. I don’t think any water got into the intake fortunately (didn’t stall and no milky oil).

Now the pain in the arse part, everything in the housing is greasy and dirty. I noticed the top and bottom of the sheaves are a bit rough, and I can feel a slight ridge with my fingernail. How smooth does this surface need to be(will I need to machine or replace them)? I am going to replace the belt at any rate, as I can see its worn a bit at the belting layer. Also, I imagine it’s saturated with the aforementioned grease.

Gonna pull the air box later, maybe tomorrow to double check that as well. All in all, it’s still funny as hell and my own silliness caused it….
