Got a group of folks together and had a spooktacular ride on Halloween. A bit on the chilly side, with temps in the upper 30’s to low 40’s, and winds blowing around 30 mph up top in the open areas. Had anywhere from a couple inches up to about 8 inches of snow to ride in, depending on if you were on the north facing slopes and/or in the trees. Being the ride leader, I had to break the trail through the snow and drifts a few times. This is where the 570 lacks compared to my old 850. Working it hard at high altitudes, we were riding around 10,000′ and higher for much of the ride, you can feel the HP difference. Riding clear trails it lacks nothing, however, breaking through one foot of snow or so up there and it just can’t carry the wheel speed that you need for that kind of work and it makes the job somewhat tougher. Got through everything but a couple of spots took a couple of tries.
Didn’t get very many pictures, but here are the few my wife and I did take.
