Glad to be here.

Hello guys and girls,

My name is Ben Elstad. I am a disabled veteran (C4-5 Inc. quadriplegic). I have been injured for 26 years. For the past few years I’ve thoroughly enjoyed being a passenger in my brother’s 2008 RZR 800. Now I am looking to become a driver. I live in Lexington, South Carolina and have just purchased 15 acres to make some trails to ride on. I’ve seen several threads where people with injuries similar to mine are driving RZR’s with adaptive controls. I just recently purchased a 2016 RZR 900S. I intend to adapt this RZR so that I can drive it with no assistance. When I was first injured, I felt like life was over. I thought there was no possibility to do anything worthwhile. After having been injured for sometime I would like to help veterans with new injuries realize that that’s not the case. If you can relieve someone of that mindset early on I think you would greatly improve their quality of life. In the end, my grand plan is to have a fully adapted truck that pulls a fully adapted enclosed trailer with living quarters, carrying an adapted RZR. I would like to take this set up to the VA in Augusta, GA (spinal cord unit) to show other disabled veterans realistic possibilities for fun. I’m glad to be a part of this RZR family. I anticipate much fun ahead!
