This fix is not approved by Polaris and there is no guaranty that this will work for you. All I can say is it worked for us.
This video is the first I’ve ever made and it’s a little rough and no sound(to much background noise) and it’s 105 here today and my laptop started crashing
This fix was Performed on a 2015 xp41k with diff. model 1333344 stamped on top of case.
Instruction’s to do diff. shim removal.
Remove right front tire (optional)
1) put front of car on jack stands
2) drain front diff. fluid (if not put rag under it because some oil will come out)
3) turn drive shaft so pin is at 12 & 6 o’clock position
4) pound pin out 3/4 of the way from hole in bottom of car( I used a drift and 2lb sledge)
5) once pin is 3/4 out turn shaft to 3 & 6 o’clock position and remove rest of the way
6) slide drive shaft off pinion shaft
7) drill 3/32 hole in seal ( I did it on passenger side)
8) insert 3" drywall screw in hole you just drilled (about 3/8 of inch just enough to grab)
9) use pry bar to remove seal ( I used the hole in middle of pry bar)
10) use 90 degree snap ring pliers to remove outer clip inside diff( you have to use good pliers Harbor freight don’t work I used lang #3494)
11) slide shaft and bearing out of hole (it takes some wiggling)
12) remove small clip from shaft and bearing
13) press shaft out of bearing ( if you don’t have a press take to local mech. and get them to do it)
14) remove shim and press bearing back on shaft
15) insert shim on shaft and reinstall small clip on shaft
16) reinsert bearing and shaft into diff.
17) reinstall new seal in diff. ( i used a little oil around mine to slide on easier)
18) slide drive shaft back on pinion shaft( I used anti sieze in hole to make it easier next time)
19) insert bolt and in drift pin hole( grade 8 5/16 24 2" length with lock nut it’s easier)
20) fill diff with required oil
21) lower off jack stands and take it for test drive
Parts Required:
30x72x8 mm seal with double lip (you can find them on ebay or you local bearing guy 5 to 11 $)
grade 8 bolt 5/16 24 2" in length with lock nut (if you don’t want to pound pin back in)
If you look on thread every one has posted a lot of pics to do this should take about 2 hrs if everything goes well some longer some shorter depends on mech. ability.
all worked I performed on passenger side of car with everything attached.
