First Grizzly

Hello all, my name is Rob and hail from Montana. I just brought home a new Grizzly. I started back in 2004 with a Prairie 700, fun quad with brutal suspension. When Kawi finally upgraded the Brute’s suspension I bought a 2012, still not a plush ride but I loved that machine. Then last December I decided to try the Polaris 1000XP. I hated it from day one. Sure it’s fast, doesn’t feel fast though from the seat of the pants meter. Nice ride but just didn’t like it on the trails I ride. Then of course the exhaust melting plastics started so I sold it at a huge loss and yet still felt great that it was finally gone. I have riding a lot of miles on my friends Grizzly’s and always like them. Thought about another Brute but the one thing I hated was the tranny whine. I chose the Grizzly, like the ride, the transmission, diff lock and love the looks and color of the SE. I will be getting stiffer foam for the seat but no big deal. I only have one concern, I took it out for a few short bursts and it stumbles real hard off idle when getting into the throttle from idle. It recovers quickly and has a great mid range punch. I’ve done a number of searches and can’t find much on a 2016 of coarse. It does run a little lean as most all do these days, pops slightly on decel. I’m not sure if the stumble is a lean condition of not? I’ve read a bit on the pod mod, not sure if this is still functional on new machines as what I read were all older 700’s. Any ideas welcomed. Would like to get it right. If not it’s not a deal breaker. I got it for trial riding not drag racing but it sure would be nice to get the full potential of the snappy new mill. Nice machine. Thanks, Rob.
