I’m looking to buy a XP 1000 2-seater and was going to take advantage of the discounted 2015 prices since it seemed like the only changes were the colors, but one of the local dealers is telling me the 2016 includes the following changes:
– modified prop shaft angle in the front diff
– spherical-cut front dif gears
– modified clutch (new clutch is a driven clutch vs roller clutch for the 2014)
I don’t even know what these things are as I’m a noob but he’s claiming these were put in to reduce the noise and vibration from the front end and to address the clutch issues (rebuilds every 600-800 miles) in the ’15s. Can anyone confirm these are true? I’ve talked to 6 other dealers in the last week and nobody else has heard of these, but this dealer is saying his shop is full of ‘product enthusiasts with a tight relationship with Polaris’ and he’s 100% confident these claims are true.
