tire weight question

I noticed going from amazon to the manufactures websites the weights are different. I listed them here.

STI website black diamond ATR 25x12x9 is 29lbs, and 23x8x11 is 17lbs.
GBC website Dirt Devils 25x12x9 is 24 lbs and 23x8x11 is 14.50lbs

Amazon GBC DD weight 23x8x11 is 16lbs and 25x12x9 is 28lbs
STI BD weight 23x8x11 is 16lbs and 25x12x9 is 21lbs

Total weight BD on amazon is 37lbs, DD weight is 44lbs =$189.00 amazon
GBC DD =$157.00 amazon, cheapest I found is Rocky mountain atv Black Diamonds for $178.00

Makes you wonder how many companies actually have calibrated scales? I’m considering getting away from the tractor tread tires, good example few years ago me and grandpa were goin to check the cows and there’s this ditch off to the right side of the slight hill i let grandpa ahead to see if he makes it up, he does and I go down to 2nd get half way up then all goes wrong. Start sliding i know to put my feet up cause of the ditch slide in the ditch and barley teedering the something gives out underneath and slides down and left, back fender is bent in but after he pulls me backwards it’s straight as new. Yes I had my tires aired down 2.5 pounds. I’ll run these dirt devils until they wear out, looked at all the tire choices and not to many radials for a stock 2wd 300 rims, the Black Diamond ATR has my eye.

Amazon price dirt devils front for mine $55.69, and rear is 101.18, total $157.00

Black diamond ATR prices amazon front $66.39, rear 122.49, total $189.00

05 rancher 3504×4 10″wide fronts on stocks?

I have a 2005 rancher 350FM 4×4 with the original stock steel rims. currently running 24x8x12’s front and 24x9x11’s on back. i’m looking to buy new tires for the winter and i’d like to move up a size. I was thinking of 25x9x12 on front. and 25x10x11 rear. however for some reason 25x9x12 seems to be a rare, odd and hard tire size to find. so I was wondering if I could just go with 25×10’s on the front and back. my question is since the stock front tires were 8’s can I put a 10in wide tire on the stock front rim? i’m positive the 9’s would have plenty of clearance and no rubs but what about the 10’s? and would the 10’s even fit the stock rim? and fit it without looking freakish? i’d love to see some replies from people who have had first hand experience with this same issue. and if anyone does have 25x10x12’s on there 2005 rancher i’d like to see a couple pic’s. pic’s and comments on the 25×9’s also welcome. I’ve got about $300.00 to spend and generally like a trail, dual purpose tire. nothing extreme-mud-alien-war assault or anything like that. and I don’t have any lifts or special mods. pure stock.

fourtrax 300 4×4 wheel questios

ho so my honda trx300fw(fourtrax 300 4×4)
witch i got used, came with 27-10-12 vampire tires but it has not been a powerfull quad.

so ive been wondering if the tires are to big or heavy for the atv?
also should i go back to stock tire size?
maybe just smaller tire like 25-10-12 or 26-10-12?
also having the front tires the same size as the rear ones affect the quads power and handling?
why the stock front tires are smaller?

also take in to consideration that i use my quad mostly on pavement, dirt roads, trails and hills.

so with that in mind witch tire and witch size would you recomend?

also id like my atv to be taller, higher. could i lift it 4 inches without having to modify the suspension?

Will 28s fit?

I recently bought a brand new 420 rancher SRA. Will the size 28 fit it stock? Not worried about how it pulls. Mods will come, just wondering if the size will fit. I have a winch on it also but I don’t think that has anything to do with possible rubbing. It’ll probably be 28-10-14s

Help me pick a new tire and size.

New 2015 Rancher 4×4. Its the base model with none of the fancy bells and whistles, and solid rear axle.

The factory tire sizes are as follows:
Front Tires: 24 x 8-12
Rear Tires: 24 x 10-11

The 4 wheeler is about 5 months old at this point and only has about 320 miles on it. I do not plan to upgrade the tires immediately but want to get an idea of what Ill be looking for in the somewhat near future.

I am an average rider – 90% of my riding is on dirt roads (sometimes pretty sandy ones), small trails, and open pastures. I will not be mud bogging or driving through lots of water, except when it is unavoidable. I want a good all terrain tire geared toward maximum traction and overall dependability.

In terms of size I had been looking to step up to a 25" tire from the 24" stock. It just seems that 25" is a much more popular tire size. I had not planned to go bigger than 25" because I understand you lose power by doing so. If there was no power sacrifice I wouldn’t mind a 26 or maybe 27 max, but I do not want to sacrifice ANY power. Would there be any loss of power going from a 24 to a 25? What size would you expect to see a loss of power? If going to 25 would be any loss of power I will stick with 24, I just wanted to get into a more popular size with more options, plus the 25 would bulk the 4 wheeler just a tad and give a tad more ground clearance. My knowledge on size vs. power loss however is very limited so im curious on this. It seems when shopping for 24’s though the options are much more limited.

In a nutshell: I want the best trail riding/ all terrain tire out there, and Id like some suggestions on what size would be ideal without ANY loss of power.

EDIT: also what about wheels? Any suggestions there would be welcome

Question about tires on 420 Rancher

I bought a set of Kenda executioner tires for my 420 rancher. The back tires are 27x12x12. Unfortunately they are very close to the exhaust. I was wandering what would be the best thing for me to do besides lifting it. Thought about using spacers but I don’t want the tires to stick past the fenders. Just wandering if anyone has any good ideas on what I could do. Thanks
