Good Tires for Snow

I bought a 2015 Foreman in October, and have been evaluating the stock tires in my day-to-day use of the vehicle. For the most part, the stock tires perform satisfactorily for normal use in the woods i.e. pulling a small trailer to collect firewood. However, I also use it a fair amount in the winter to drive down my driveway to get the mail. I have a long driveway. I found out quickly that the factory tires are not very good in snow. Fortunately, we aren’t getting much snow this winter, but I would like to have different tires in place before next winter. My former ATV (2000 Honda Rancher) had Bear Claws on it, and they were excellent in snow. Without having much experience with ATV tires, I am inclined to get Bear Claws for the Foreman, but my mind is open, and would like to hear from others what their recommendation would be.

I have seen that you can get Bear Claws and other brands on Amazon, and the price is pretty good when buying a set of 4.

Wheel Studs can’t find…

I have a 1994 four trax 200 type2 that needs 4 wheel studs. The size I was given at Napa was a 10-1.25 with a 30 mm length. They don’t carry this particular stud, and didn’t really know where I could find one. I found some that are "close" to the right size online, but I can’t find the size I need. Anyone know where a fellow could find something like this?

Thanks!

Stock wheels/tires

Rode for the first time ever on stocks today. Its far too easy to exceed their limitations. First off its too narrow. Hit the same washout as always and my Rancher rolled over and played dead. They slide sideways, which sucks when you slide into a 6′ deep water hole. Which brings up the next problem. Cant water wheelie them. So after towing it back to the truck and getting dry clothes and draining my waders, I wont be making anymore rides on the tires. And will need spacers to use the wheels. After I flush the engine, clean the carb, replace all the vent lines, change diff fluids, drain and clean the fuel tank, clean and reoil the air filter….

But for trail riding its never rode better! :yeahbaby01:

Just my observations…

Tire and rim size question for 250 4Trax

I own an old 1986 Honda 250 4Trax ATV and would like to put the same size wheels and tires all the way around on it. Can someone tell me if Honda Rancher wheels and rims will fit this 250 and if not what will. I would like a reasonably soft ride in hilly rocky terrain. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
