Was wondering if there is a trail that goes from Gunnison to Taylor park? We are staying in Gunnison Tuesday the 11th and would be cool to ride from there to Taylor park.
Hope everyone has a safe and enjoyable trip to Taylor Park. Watch out for the other guy.
We are headed out tonight and will meet up with our son who is already there with a camp set up on Texas Creek trail. Will be in cabin #26 at Taylor Park Aug 9-14. See you in the mountains! Mark
Guys we plan on bring a bunch of product along with but if anyone would like to pre order something I can give a extra discount on it. Just PM me and we will see if we can work out a deal!
I’ll be doing the Devils PB to Crystal. From Crystal I’ll hit the Lead King Loop and then on to eat at Slow Groovin BBQ in Marble. I’m not decided as of yet on what I’ll do after lunch. I’d like to run up to the top of Whitehouse mountain but, I haven’t been there yet this year. Last year a avalanche went through the road and I had to clear trees for two hours. If that’s the case, I’ll turn around and go back depending on how bad it is. At the top, it overlooks Crystal and Marble. Once I get done with that, I’ll head back towards Crested Butte. If there’s time, I’d like to run to the top of the North Pole Basin. Most likely, this will happen on the 12th. If anyone wants to go, let me know and we can set up a time and place to meet.

hi folks got back yesterday after 6 days of really cool seat time
it rained pretty much every day
i ran into a snow bank on a shal ridge trying to summit the mountain at telleruim creek
talk about nerve racking trying to back down that shelf with a 800 foot drop off at 12,000ft elevation
backed down to a turn around spot
underwear check sat there a while mentally exhausted after facing death/ lunch time
and the wife pissed at me for the rest of the day ha ha
i was heart in mouth sick to my stomach feeling and in total denial ha ha
For the locals I was wondering if there was any preferred way to get into Taylor Park from the east. Will be hauling a 14ft. trailer from Illinois and was looking for the easiest (on the truck) route into the park, this is what google maps suggests.
