Tips for Used RZR 170’s Shopping
I’ve dealt with plenty of issues on small 50cc and 90cc ATV carbs so the EFI is very appealing. Just not a lot of used ones running around that are 15 and up models.
The forum seems to have mixed feedback on the carb versions. I can pick up a good used 09-13 for around $3k, but will spend almost $1500 more for a new one with the EFI.
Questions:
1) Any real changes of note from 09-14?
2) Anyone ever taken these to dealer and can tell me the ballpark cost for a replacement carb?
3) EFI owners – Are they worth it. Do they run great, did you have a carb before and upgraded for the EFI?
I’ve had good luck with my 250cc and 450cc ATV carbs, but in my experience the smaller the harder to keep them running. 170cc is a decent size so maybe these are reliable.
I like the idea of the bigger wheels and tires too so if we find one, might look for that as the first upgrade. Appreciate the feedback!

Anyone make an EFI kit for 2011 rzr 170?
I have aftermarket carb but its still a carb and sucks. Runs great when new and then you start having problems.
I am hoping someone at this point sales a conversion kit?
RZR 170 EFI Recall 15-743 ?
FYI – it does not come up (for me at least) on the Polaris Website – so wonder slightly if it’s a fake…
Coincidentally, my 170 VIN fits in the range given.
You can Google and find the details.
Meanwhile, here’s some of the description taken from the notice:
