Two weeks ago my wife and I loaded up for a weekend trip. Our Rzr was hit by lighting in a overnight storm. Crazy enough it still ran the next morning with nothing other then cosmetic damage. So after our weekend ride we purchased replacement parts and also decide to buy some tubing to do a roll cage to our liking. These are a few shots as of tonight. Still needs the harness bar, rear bumper tie bars, and front bumper and tie bars. But I’m happy with the turn out so far.
I’m prob going to get the new xpt 4 when it comes out. I’m def getting harnesses but do I really need an after market cage? Are the polaris oem cages that sketchy? I ride mostly dunes and some trails. If I’m spending 30k I don’t want to spend any extra on cosmetic parts although I know after market cages are stronger
I am going to build a single seat ATV in a rock bouncer/crawler style. I am pretty sure most OME side-by-sides are built using 1.750 tubing (don’t know the wall thickness they use). I want to use either 1" 0.095/.120 or 1.250 0.083/0.095/.120 <<one of the three DOM steel tubing. Several reasons I want to use these tube sizes is (1) I already have dies for those sizes and don’t want to spend $$$ for new dies.(2) I can get a real good deal one the tube per foot. Something I would be doing that stock OEM manufactures don’t do is I’ll be gusseting all the critical stress area. If I go with the 1" .083 I would build the lower part of the chassis with a double frame. I know I said the chassis would be like those high dollar rock bounce style, but in reality once built it would see VERY little if any rock bouncing/crawling & if it does it would be the easy trails. THANKS!!

Can someone tell me what I suspect to be true. Do the 800 cage and 900 XP cage have the same dimensions and mounting on the "A" and "B" posts? The difference is the XP cage has the "C" post that goes through the bed. Is this true?
The reason I ask is that custom 800 cages are getting harder to find. I found an XP knock down kit I really like and would just have to fabricate my own rear extension to make it work on my 800S.

Does anyone know the dimensions of a stock roll cage for a rzr 900 xp? I am away from home and trying to get my cage powdercoated? The guy I called has a 4×8 oven and need to know if it can fit. Thanks in advance
