Hey all, well I just before Easter I decided to trade in my 2012 Honda Rincon for a ’15 Outlander 650 XT Pearl White. A friends has the same bike, it is way faster, more stable, better suspension etc. I was hesitant at first since the Honda was/is reliability, but it was slow, and the suspension sucked, and the 3 spd tranny was always looking for a gear.

Well I am new to the atv world and I just purchased a new Commander XT 1000 Camo. I was very impressed with the power it has. Puts you back in your seat thats for sure. From all I have been reading so far is you have a break in procedure…which I wish the dealer would have told me about when I bought it. Well when I got home, I took it out and let’er have it for about and hour and a half or so. So I put on maybe 1 or 2 miles, some at high speeds, hit a few puddles just enough to get it wet but nothing major. When I got home to put it away, I have to climb up about a 6 or 7 inches to get into my garage. I was doing this slow so I didnt smash into anything going in. In doing so, it wouldnt go up onto the concrete floor, so I gave it a little more. Started going up and started to smell rubber:sad:. Once it got in, I was inching it to its spot and there is a almost slipping sound when you start to push on the accelarator, sounds like in the front, not under me where the engine sits, but that could be deceiving. Now from reading the threads here, I should be in low gear, and in low gear and not letting ‘er rip anywhere for the first 50-100 miles. So today I took it out again, took it easy but that sound is still there when you start off slow, just for a second until you get going. If you matt it, it just takes off like it did when I brought it home. Is it still ok or did I wreck something like clutch or belt. With it still moving like "nobodys business", makes me wonder…any advise from you experienced guys?
What’s happenin’ fellow riders! New to Can Am’s, stationed here in beautifulFt Carson, CO, I just came from a Grizzly so this is a big difference for me but I love it so far, just picked up my Outty XT 800R-Cammo today so I haven’t had the chance to take her out yet & play……soon though. Already thinking of mods to do tires & under carriage protection is priority, question to follow. Look forward to learning a lot from everyone, thx.
Just wanted to introduce myself to the group. I just joined tonight because I bought a brand new, but left over 2013 Can-Am Outlander 650 DPS this week. Can’t wait to hit the trails with it. This is not my first ATV but my fist brand new. This is replacing an older Polaris.
