Trying to join the Canam Crew need some advise !

I’m in the market for a new ATV , after watching Ostacruiser’s video’s I am sold on a Canam. Now the question is which one, a 2016 Renegade or XMR. I think I’m going to stay with the new 850 which is coming out. I think its the best bang for the buck compared to the 1000. But if you disagree please explain why.
I’m on a budget and want to have a bike completely done up for 15k or less , that’s my budget and I can’t go over it. I’d like to have a Renegade identical to this one,

, but obliviously not the 1000. I just don’t think I could do it for 15k or under.
I’m thinking I will have to go with the 850 XMR which is already built from factory ready to ride out and mud.
I ride down here in south florida which tends to be alot of deep sugar sand trials and water holes mixed with some nice greasy mud. This is where I plan to ride

So in your opinion which machine would be better for where I’m going to ride , please include pros and cons for each.
Again thank you for any advise and input . I’m sure this is going to be a huge upgrade from the grizzly 660 I use to ride haha

New to the can-am world

Hello everyone, I just bought a 2012 renegade 800 xc last night and I’m stoked to say the least !! This is my first ever can am I have been an avid rider for 25 years and I have wanted a renegade for about 6 years. I’m excited to be in this group and hope to learn more about the new quad. It is a 2012 renegade 800 xc with 36 hours on it, I would like to know what fluids are best, any maintenance needed, what cool accessories you guys recommend, etc. Thanks in advance to any info. oh yeah it has 2 keys that came with it, a black and gray the previous owner dropped both keys and his dog chewed them a little the black key will turn it on but it will not crank the machine. I would like to know which key is the performance key. thanks again:thumbsmilie:

Hello

My name is nick i ride an ’06 outlander 800 XT.

got it off kijiji and its been a great quad, bought it with 1100 kms and its at 1900 now.

Bought another ’06 outlander 800 XT for the wife it had 3500 kms on it. felt a little used thought maybe it needed a u joint because there was a little play in the throttle snap. it has a rad relocate, snorkel, and ss rims with mud bitch tires aswel as a fuel optimizer, both quads have hmf exhaust.

unfortunately the quad i bought for the wife was rode pretty hard and needs 7300$ in parts and service so my can am dealer tells me.

im not gonna pay that kind of money for a ’06 unit so i guess i bought myself a very expensive parts quad.

i would like to rebuild the engine and transmission and i hope that all of you can help me with this.

First 4 wheeler again since I was a kid..

Hey what’s up, I’m Rob.
I haven’t owned a 4 wheeler since I was about 9 years old and have had the itch for another one every since. It was a Yamaha 50 that dad bored and stroked for me. Just bought a 04 Bombardier Quest 650 a month ago. Looking forward to learning more about it. The carb needs rebuilt and the front left outer cv shaft is missing the race and bearings, but got it for 1500 from my uncle, so I still think it was a heck of a deal. I’m huge into sport trucks, owned 6 different GM trucks, all of which I lowered, 2 of which I supercharged. Currently rocking a 14 Silverado, lowered 6" on 22’s. So, I’m not the typical lifted truck guy here in Southern Indiana. lol I included a recent picture of my truck, it still tows all the time and usually has a 1000lb horse in the trailer for my fiancée.

Got hurt in 01 in a car wreck, now a paraplegic with a back held together by metal. But still am the only person that touches my trucks. (Other than warranty work, thanks GM lol) I’m going to need some advice on re-doing this carb on this 4wheeler, I am admittedly a fuel injected guy. I’ll check out the tech threads for that.

Looking forward to all the info available on this site.
I’ll find the tech threads and post up in there about the carb. Nice meeting you guys!
