New member and new can-am owner

Hello all….just just wanted to say hey and had a couple questions…i recently purchased 2 can-am outlander L 450’s with dps…
my business uses them for work soil testing in fields..mainly corn and soybean fields…we currently have 13 polaris sportsman 500’s and a polaris xp550 and are going to try a couple different machines…the main questions i had were about maintenance…the fields are always dusty and the bikes tend to suck alot of dirty air in them hence the need to change air filters often….i noticed the oem can-am filters are anywhere from 40 to 50$$$ i thought about changing to a k&n filter after the first filter change…i’ve used them in cars and trucks with no probs but was wondering if anyone had experience with them in the can-am’s??? i think as long as you kept them clean and oiled properly they should be ok??
next is about oil and filters…since we have quite a few bikes i have been using shell rotella t6 5w-40 synthetic in the sportsmans and usually wix filters…any advice for a new owner for oil and filters would be appreciated….i will post some pics when done…currently adding soil sample boxes, gps equip, fire ext and computer equip along with some fabricated parts to add on…bike are brand new with no miles yet other than short test rides…thanks and hope to get some good use out of the can am’s..

New member here

Just wanted to introduce myself. I have been a long time atv and dirt bike rider. I have owned many dirt bikes, street bikes, and several atv’s from race quads to utility quads. My most recent quad was a 2009 Kawasaki Brute Force 750. I had a long list of mods done to it, and I thought I would never own anything else. I have always liked the Renegade and have test rode several Can Ams over the years. The Renegade was the only one that I ever really liked, so when I had a chance to buy a leftover 800 and sell my quad to my son, I jumped on it. Now the mods will begin. Maybe you guys can let me know what the must have mods are besides skids, a winch and probably some better tires, which you can advise me on as well. Cheers!

Wannabe Can Am Outlander owner

Hi, first post. I live in Alaska and am looking at getting a used Outlander. Back in 1986 I bought the first Suzuki 4WB Quadrunner. Back in the day it was great. 2WD and differential lock, 4 wheel independent suspension. I could outdo any other rig back then. Traded it for a motorcycle and did that for 11 years but now want to get back into 4 wheeling.

Back to the Forum

Used to be a faithful reader 5 years ago but lost my way. Just retired from the military and moved back to MN. Used to have a an Outlander 400 that I rode when I was stationed in Duluth and when I transferred to WV. Sold it in IL which I regret to this day and hopefully I can purchase a new Outie once I find a job. It is nice to see some familiar names on the forum. i will keep reading and hopefully post a pic of a new ride this winter. I see a 570 in the future. thanks.

PS If anyone is hiring PM me. Not too proud to ask.
