New Alaskan XMR 1000 owner

This 2015 XMR is my first big bore ATV…. I am looking forward to learning it from top to bottom.
I have been riding the smaller quads my whole life… but have been drooling over these big boy Can-AMs for several years now and finally took the plunge :th_smiliebanana2:
I am really looking forward to seeing pictures and learning how you guys modify these beast:tools1:

New to Can-Am and this site. (Central California)

Hello Can-Am community. First off I would like to say thank you for creating such an awesome site, secondly would like to apologize in advance for how long my first post is! I am new to your site and new to the brand. I have owned several sport style quads in the past (Suzuki & Honda) but was in the market for something that would do a little work and still be fun. After doing some research I set my sights on Can-Am based on many positive reviews.
I recently purchased a used 08 Outlander 500 Max XT from an older gentleman. The bike was located up in snow country but the owner claimed it had always been stored inside. It only has 95 hours on it and looks like showroom condition. I was very excited to find what I thought was a great bike at a great price, maybe a little too excited! When I took the bike for a test ride I noticed that the front brakes did not seem to be working well and after closer inspection noticed that there was some coolant on the disk. When I asked the gentleman about it he said that the quad had been sitting for awhile so he topped of the fluids and must have spilled some. The guy seemed sincere and the bike looked like new so I did not think much about it, that is until I got it home and took it out for a ride. After running it for a short time I noticed coolant leaking from the overflow bottle. Every-time I run it for more than a 5-10 minutes it starts to burp out coolant. After reading posts from this site I attempted to bleed the cooling system at the heads several times, but still keep having coolant burping out. The bike seems to run great and there is not any indication of oil in the coolant or coolant in the oil, but I am afraid to run it and damage the motor. I am encouraged by all the great comments about how tough these machines are, and am thankful to have found such a great site and resource. Still hoping that my first Can-Am experience turns out to be a good one! Sorry again for such a long post, just needed to vent as I am very nervous and frustrated to have such a great looking bike but not be able to ride it! :th_smiliepullhair:
Thanks again for letting me vent!

FNG From NE Ohio

New around here, from the Cleveland area.

Picked up a 2014 Outlander 650 XMR with low hours. Been looking at quads for a while and finally pulled the trigger.

Previous owner did some light mods, Viper 4000 winch, brake pads, shifter, hand guards, led light bar but he never installed it. I’ve already put on a rear bumper and ordered the 4" rack, only had it a week. I’ll get the bar installed next week when the switches and mount come in.

Not looking to bury it to the intakes, mainly just screwing around with friends and hunting. Any other issues I should be aware of?

New here.

Hello, new to the Can Ams and this forum as well. I have a 2014 outlander 800 R with 32" silverbacks. Be taking it out this weekend for the first trip. I’ve read a lot of post about smoking the belt. I ride trails almost exclusively and don’t want to do something wrong. I’ve also read about a new clutch set up UATV. Anyone have experience with it? Thanks

Can-am newbie

Hello all! New to the can am world with my recent purchase of a used 2014 Camo Outlander XMR 1000. Previously, I had a 2008 Polaris Sportsman 800 H.O. and enjoyed it, but couldn’t get my mind off of an XMR once I saw one in person. Looking forward to learning on here and putting some time in on this machine.
