Lurker finally checking in after pickup of our brand new 2016 Outlander Max 570 L. It arrived right before Canadian Thanksgiving so the timing couldn’t be better.
About Me:
– father of 4 young kids, so Max was the only way to go
– riding includes recreational trails, travel for hunting and ice fishing
– experienced riding Can Am’s, Polaris, Honda, Artic Cat and Yamaha ranging from 400cc to 800cc
– other ‘toy’ currently in the garage is a 1989 Yamaha Enticer 400 Longtrack
First Impressions:
– questions about power of 570 engine are a thing of the past. More than enough to keep me satisfied.
– the 2 up seat is amazing. I had experience with Outlanders in the past but never rode on a 2 up seat. I’m 6’5", 240lbs and my wife says she could barely notice I was on with her. The seat is also perfect for the kids.
– did a bit of gentle trail riding in the woods. Suspension feel and travel was as expected. Biggest difference was the overall length of the Max in the tighter parts of the trail.
Next Steps:
– Superwinch Terra 35 arrived in the mail. Install should be happening this weekend.
– Maybe attachment for chainsaw / rifle. Still debating how rednecky I want to look!
– Head up north for deer hunting season in a couple weeks so it will be another chance to continue engine break-in on some logging roads.
– I need a trailer!
Question :
– As weight is shifted from side to side there is a knocking sound coming from the rear of the quad. Doesn’t matter if you’re moving or not. Any suggestions?
Looking forward to tomorrow, picking up the new 2016 White CAN AM Renegade XXC 850. Just pulled from the create. I just need to find a good set of snow tires to beat this MN winter. Great site, a lot of good information.
Now I can hang out on the trails with my Grandson with a little class, instead of that darn garden tractor.
I recently picked up a used 2-up 2013 Outlander 1000 XT. It is my first ATV. It was almost new with less than 55 hrs and only 254 miles. I doubt it ever saw mud. I am excited to change that and get some riding in. Via the forum I hope to learn how to maintain it and enjoy it to the max.
Ok. So I love my two wheeled vehicles, I’ve owned everything from Harleys, to KLR’s to my Honda RC51. Why have I never owned an ATV until now!? What the hell have I been waiting for? I picked up a used Outlander for cheap. She runs good and I have taken it up Peavine without issue. I have never had so much fun on an outing.:th_smiliebanana2: I’d say so far so good!
Glad I found the forum and looking forward to some great rides.
I may have to get another new one in the very near future.

Hey all, new here and to quads as a whole. I took the leap last weekend and purchased a 2015 Outlander MAX XT800 in camo. Not too sure what I got myself into just yet, but enjoying the heck out of it so far.
Looking forward to spend a lot of time on the trails here in Michigan.
