Happy Canam Owner

Hello everyone..
semi-retired disaster recovery planner/engineer n work pt from home,… which is located at the foothills to the White Mountains in NH labelled the "Lakes Region". Winters are getting tougher every year now at 50+ and all I can say is I luv my Outlander. She’s a tough cookie and seems to just dig in and perform even harder during those stressful nor-easters dumping feet of snow in short periods. Sure wish "Warn" plow systems were as tough…

As I was perusing the net looking for an unobtainium rubber boot to replace on my 4×4 switch (had ripped a little), I came across this site and read the blog regarding the issue. After some thought,… I came up with a good fix & shared with my Canam Mates.

New Guy Here From Central NY

Hello,
I have been using Google a lot and it has brought my searches here so I’ve been lurking for a while before I decided to register. I have owned a 2004 Arctic Cat 400, sold it and purchased a 2005 Kawasaki Brute Force 650 sra. I owned that for about 3 years. Recently I decided it was time to get a new four wheeler again and it came down to another Brute Force, Grizzly (2016) or an Outlander. I was planning on getting with low millage/hours but after looking for a while I decided to go new. It was one of those things that went like…… Well for $500 I can get this one….. Then we’ll for $1,000 more than that I can get this one lol etc. in the end I purchased a 2015 Can Am Outlander 800r XT Camo. I also purchased a Iron Baltic poly skid plate that should be here tomorrow.
I plan on using the Outty for going into the woods to pull out small pieces of down trees (not to burn), transporting drift wood to the truck, removing rocks from streams/cricks/rivers…… All this with a small pull behind trailer. I will also use it to do some trail riding here and there…… There’s not much mud around here so mudding probably isn’t gonna happen 🙁
I hope I made the right decision.

New guy from Maine

Hi everyone. I don’t own a Can-Am yet but after doing some research , I’m thinking the Outlander L Max DPS will be my next ATV. I’ve owned 2 ATV’s : A 1997 Polaris Sportsman 400L and I still own a 2001 Arctic Cat 500 manual shift. The Arctic Cat has been awesome, 6.500 trouble free miles , 30 Mudzillas on 14" aluminum AC rims, Trail Tech Voyager. My complaint with the old AC is it only has a 50 inch wheelbase and I ride 2 up with the wife quite a lot. I think 9 more inches would make quite a difference. Hmm, that didn’t sound right, haha. My other choice might be an AC TRV 550 XT EPS. After owning a Polaris, all I can say= Never again! The only good thing I can say it was easy to sell, people think Polaris must be good. Mine was a money pit, every day, something new was broken. My hobbies= hunting and drag racing my 2 Dodge hemis. Here’s a pic: POPO and AC 500. Hope tho have an Outlander and keep the AC for my friends to drive .

Carb problems

Have a question! We have a 2004 outlander max and we are wondering if anyone knows what the setting are for the carb and air screw. Ours seems to be back firing, we cleaned the carb and adjusted the throttle cable, but we think we have her set wrong. Any info will be greatly appreciated 🙂 also anyone know where we can get a service Manuel hopefully free online. Can-am here doesn’t seem to be very co-operative. Thanks

Hello from L.I. Happy to be here

Hey all. I live on Long Island and have a place south of Albany, N.Y. This site is unbelievable. I Was looking to get an XT850 Max. Figured the rear seat couldn’t hurt just in case. Then started looking at the posts about the XMR and that a lot of people trail ride them as well. Totally confused. Lol. Anyway this is a great site that I’m looking forward to spending a lot of time on so I can figure out what’s best. Hello again
