All NEBRASKA RIDERS please read!!!

NOHVA JUST LEARNED THAT the Nebraska Legislature has passed LB-498 which is a law requiring “ALL” ATVs and UTVs to be registered in Nebraska. LB-498 was introduced by Senator Galen Hadley of Kearney. The bill has been passed by the legislature and forwarded to the Governor for his approval. What this means is that later this year ALL ATVs and UTVs must be registered at your county court house in the state of Nebraska if the governor signs the bill.
This includes machines that are used on private land as well as on trails. No person shall be allowed to operate an ATV or UTV in Nebraska without a Nebraska registration or a registration from another state. With this new law if the governor signs it, all ATVs and UTVs must have a registration decal on the fender. Racing or any modified ATVs and UTVs are INCLUDED. Law enforcement will be checking ATVs and UTVs for a registration on the machine.
In order to buy an $8 registration all prior taxes must be paid, the owner must prove ownership with a title, a Manufacturers Statement of Origin (MSO) and/or a legal receipt of payment. Failure to pay taxes, title your ATV or UTV and pay the registration fee will result in a misdemeanor and fine. Sales taxes will be collected from retailers at the time of the sale. On private sales the buyer will need to pay the sales taxes. Before a sale can be made in private the owner must prove ownership and pay past taxes.
UNLIKE MOST OTHER STATES NONE OF THE FEES AND TAXES PAID WILL BE USED FOR TRAILS AND PLACES FOR PEOPLE TO RIDE. This is a link to the final bill as sent to the governor. http://nebraskalegislature.gov/Floor…inal/LB498.pdf
This new law will be a big mess for ATV and UTV owners who do not have the proper paperwork to prove ownership. In some instances machines could be confiscated from their owners if they don’t have the correct papers. The registrations will be done by each county, and I can assure you that it will be a very confusing and frustrating process for many. IF YOU ARE NOT IN FAVOR OF THIS NEW LAW, CONTACT GOVEROR RICKETS AND EXPRESS YOUR OPINION IMMEADIATELY! Arapeen Trail, Utah. Anyone familiar?

Planning a June trip to the Arapeen Trail in Utah and was wondering if anyone has any input on the trail system? Was planning on staying in Mt. Pleasant, then Ephraim, Manti, and then back up to Mt. Pleasant. Gonna spend 5 days riding the trails and making the loop back up to Mt. Pleasant where the truck will be parked. Any info on places to stay and such will be greatly appreciated!!!
