A small group of us will be at Buffalo mtn 9/5-6 riding out of Sycamore Inn. We are taking the lady folk so we probably won’t be doing anything too extreme. Anyone who wants to ride along is welcome! There will be 4 RZR’s and a quad.

UPDATE ON OUR MEETING YESTERDAY FOR MORE TRAILS IN PA:

We need YOUR help more than ever folks! We finally have people in office sitting up straight and listening to us but we can’t let off the gas. Per Senator Stefano he wanted us to tell each of you "conversations have begun"! RIGHT NOW THE BIGGEST OBSTACLE IS WE NEED TO GET SENATE BILL # 648 PASSED IN SEPTEMBER/OCTOBER! Bill #648 in short is asking to separate the snowmobile and atv funds so that our registration money for ATVs is appropriately spent on trails for ATVs! Without this bill passing we are pretty much dead in the water so to speak! EACH AND EVERY ONE OF YOU AND YOUR SPOUSES AND ANY FRIEND OR FAMILY MEMBER WILLING NEED TO SEND IN A LETTER TO YOUR SENATOR AND OTHER LOCAL LEGISLATORS TO URGE THEM TO SUPPORT AND PASS BILL # 648! THIS MUST BE DONE WITHIN THE NEXT COUPLE OF WEEKS SO PLEASE DONT PROCRASTINATE! Senator Stefano, Senator Ward and Senator Wozniak are all 100% on board with us BUT we have to get the other Senators/Legislators on board as well to get the Bill # 648 passed and the Senators NEED OUR HELP! I can not stress enough how important this is. There were a couple of places we discussed starting a trail system but can’t go any further without this bill passing.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE stop to take the time to send this letter in and beg your other family members and friends to do this same. WE CAN DO THIS! Let’s motivate one another and post up screen shots of your letter you are sending! I have attached a link to locate who your local senator is and their address to send the letter to. List of Pennyslvania Senators Below is a form letter you can copy and paste into a Word or Google Doc to use.

Dear Senator,

I am writing to you to ask that you support Senate Bill # 648 Session of 2015. With over 190,000 registered ATV’s in Pennsylvania and only 250 miles of legal trails on state land it is vital our voices be heard to separate the registration fees, etc. from snowmobiles and ATVs. The number of trail miles on public land for snowmobiles outnumbers those for ATVs by a 10-1 ratio! I am respectfully asking for fairness and accountability to the collection and distribution of funds I pay for ATV riding opportunities in the Commonwealth. Keeping the snowmobile and ATV funds separated will help ensure this will happen.

As one of your constituents, I am asking you to help ATV enthusiasts in promoting, developing, and coordinating education programs pertaining to safe and responsible four wheeling. This will help lead the Pennsylvania Senate Community, Economic & Recreational Development Committee in the fight to create jobs by developing a trail system in Pennsylvania similar to the Hatfield McCoy Trail System in West Virginia. The Hatfield McCoy System in West Virginia generates a whopping $24 million per year and Pennsylvania can benefit greatly by creating a similar system here!

I appreciate your help and ask that you please send me a response letting me know if you are able to help in gaining more legal trails in Pennsylvania for ATV enthusiasts to enjoy. Thank you for your time and considering my request!

Sincerely,

Your Name

Hatfield McCoy & Spearhead in October

A buddy and I plan to ride Spearhead’s Mountain View trails on Monday, October 12. After that, we’ll be heading to Hatfield-McCoy’s Buffalo Mountain to ride on Wednesday and Thursday. On the way from St. Paul VA to Delbarton WV on Tuesday, we’ll be stopping for a quick ride on Spearhead’s Coal Canyon, which is only partially opened with about 20 miles of trails. Let me know if you’re interested in joining us.
