Hello I’m a long time lurker but decided to register when my best friend bought a 2016 RZR 900 (base model) the other day and relies on me for info and mods.
I was looking through all the specific sections you have here but I cant find a section I could start topics on and communicate with other RZR 900 base owners.
I looked through three pages of the 50" trail section which was ok but seemed to be mainly centered around topics pertaining to the RZR Trail. I saw that the XP HO 900 Jagged X Edition and many others got its own section and was wondering if there was going to be a regular RZR 900 section for people like me who have been waiting for a RZR like this for a while now (more refinement then the 800, more powerful then the 570 but without all the added features of the trail version which add an extra $2,000 to the MSRP….$4,500 if you opt for the XC Edition.
I’m typically the type of guy that saves up to get the biggest and baddest version of things but seeing how things have exploded in the UTV market I’m now considering a RZR S 1000 even though I live out west.
Don’t own a RZR yet but have been researching all brands for the past several months. Have finally settled on a 2016 XP1K for its industry-wide dominance of the sport. Plan to purchase one before the new year and waste lots of gas exploring any place it will fit in the north GA mountains. Sorely wish we could legally drive such vehicles on the thousands of miles of U.S. National Forest service roads in the state but have found enough private options to make it worth owning such a rig. Definitely interested in attacking the Hatfield/McCoy trail system with some friends next spring!
Hi all,
I just purchased a 2014 Rzr 1000 XP two weeks ago with 615 miles. Went riding last weekend in Southern Indiana area and loved it.
I joined the forum to learn about the machine, latest/best accessories, and technical issues. Speaking of technical issues, I noticed the machine does not want to run faster than about 64 mph at about 8800 RPM. I know the machine should do more than that speed. The machine was bought from a private owner and it was absolutely immaculate. We took pieces off to look for mud evidence and could find none. It could have been abused but it sure didn’t look like it. The owner did state they put a more robust belt on it after getting it and gave me the old belt which looks brand new. Wonder if they did something installing the belt that would cause it to run slower? Machine seems to have killer power on the low end and don’t notice anything such as slippage but again I’m a newbie. Any advice welcome.
I look forward to participating and maybe one day giving good advice.
Rick

Riding dirt bikes and an older Sportsman for years, just picked up a 2011 800 with 1050 miles tonight, tore around the backyard woods for a half hour with the kids. Gonna pick up a full maintenance kit tomorrow and change all the fluids and start fresh, looking forward to lots of good times.
I just bought a 2014 RZR 800 trail. While I am new to the RZR, I have been riding ATVs for years. Thanks in advance for any info you may provide in the future.
