newbie needs help
I am in the process of buying my first RZR. I plan to buy a used machine, probably an 800CC or 900CC.
My 18 year old nephew and my 65 year old wife both plan to drive it so I can see differing driving styles. I live in Ontario Canada but we’ll keep the machine in the BC mountains (semi arid climate but lots of rivers/creeks/etc).
I see lots for sale and I wonder what I should look for.
So, here are a couple of questions for you.
1. Suspension. Are the stock components satisfactory or should I upgrade?
2. Mud bogging…I see some machines advertised as "never mud bogged". I assume mud bogging creates extra stress on the machine so that is something I want to avoid?
3. Engine and drivetrain. Anything I should look for?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance Doug
Hello – 1st sxs purchase 2015 900S – Indiana
Just picked up my machine over the weekend. I did a sxs excursion around Denali national park last year and I decided this would be a fun hobby.
Thanks for the forum, got a lot to learn going forward from the community!

Hello from SE Wisconsin
Hello from Canada!!
Just wanted to say hello to the community. Have been browsing the forums for the past few months. Been using the info to helm me decide what I wanted to buy.
I am a proud owner of a 2 week old 2015 rzr 900 eps bleufire!!!
I choose the 900 over the 570 because I wanted the torque and snap of a bigger motor and thst the 15 also had a very nice new look. I chose a trail cuz I wanted to go were the rest of my friends go. The trail system around me (Ottawa valley, Ontario) are fairly new and still under development so I want sure if they would adopt the 50" rule or not.
So far I have about 75km on it and love it. And just want to thank everybody who didn’t even know it but helped me decide on my rzr
Pictures and info to come
