Well i have to tear into my rincon to fix the final shifter that is giving me grinding when going into gear (D or R). So since i have to go into the tranny, i was thinking of doing the BRGR and maybe trying to trade or get my self some more aggressive tires of 27’s or 28’s. Whats everyones thoughts?
With the BRGR and 28" tires, the top speed would be around 50 but right now with my 26’s, at full throttle, i can only get up to 55 in fields that i ride, havent tried on a road yet. LOL
I am working on a rincon 680 that has some steering "freeplay" Its a 2006 Rincon, with 1500 miles. The tie rod ends and ball joints are tight…..no movement at all. There is no movement in the steering shaft bushings. The only place I see excess play in where the bottom of the shaft slides into the steering sector, pitman arm or whatever its called. Both pieces are splined, with no visible wear/damage to the eye.
Assuming that the shaft is hardened steel, I’m thinking that the steering sector is the culprit. When the nut holding the sector in place was removed, the sector almost fell off the end of the shaft. Any thoughts? Feedback on this issue will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Well guys after a long project/build on a 1997 Honda Recon I had a buddy want to buy it pretty bad so I sold it. Was going to pick up a new Ranger but it got bumped from the budget…… So I found a 2010 Honda Rincon that looks like it has been through some kind of war……. I will be updating this thread with things that I do to it just like I did with my Recon for any of you that saw that thread. I just placed my first parts order which consisted of all new White plastic for the Bike. I think it also needs a couple CV shafts and some other steering work. Bike seems to have a ton of power and fun to ride…. Here is the first photo.
When I am in reverse, my rincon makes a weird popping sound almost like the gears arnt fully catching and are slipping. It only happens sometimes and it’s even at little throttle. I can go very easy and do it and I can punch it and it will sometimes do it. Only does it in reverse, not forward. Any ideas what’s going on?

I dont have any knowledge of ATVs, but have always wanted to buy one for riding out in the country where I live, and to have as a project to work on/modify (cheaper to work on than my Jeep).
I’m not sure if the hours/miles are high for this 4 wheeler, or if it is even a good 4 wheeler to start out with. I’m not looking to go mud bogging, or anything extreme, just something fun to ride. This will not be used to haul or pull anything.
