Is there a such thing as “Too aggressive of a tire?”

When I bought the Griz, I had the dealer throw some wicked looking EFX MotoMTC tires on it.
EFX MotoMTC – All Terrain ATV Tire and UTV Tire by EFX Performance

I noticed the other day that sometimes my quad seems a little unpredictable while ascending a tree rooted or rocky hill. Kind of grabs and hops around some. It yanked the front end around pretty violently a couple times.

Too much tire? Or just me not being experienced enough?

I don’t ride deep mud. Just trail riding with light mud.
I am thinking of something else, like maybe ITP Terracrosses.

2014, grizzly rear spring spacers??

I’ve have a grizz 700. It is the 2014 model with quite a few changes from the previous several years. They changed the a arms and springs on that year. I’m finding my rear springs/suspension is quite soft. I watched and compared my rear ground clearance, with just one rider on it, to my other two partners grizzlys, 2006 and 2010. Both there grizzlys are identical in the rear suspension, and there rear ground clearance is many inches higher than the downward sloping a arms. On my 2014, with the different spring/a arm combo, the rear skid plate is virtually parallel with the rear a arms, and when I go over even light bumps, my quad squishes down with upward sloping a arms, and not too much ground clearance! It also causes my rear wheels to camber in at the tops too much. I even maxed out my five slot spring adjusters to the stiffest!
So my question is….
Why is the 2014 so much softer in the back end?
And how do I fix it??
Spring spacers???
If so, which spacers are the best????
And how many do I need, length?????
Thanks guys for any feed back!!

Front Brake Light Switch Help

I just discovered that the reason my brake light is on all the time is because the front brake lever is not holding the switch in, if I push the lever back, the light goes out.
I cannot figure out how to remove the switch from the lever housing, I seethe hole where the manual says there is a clip, but don’t want to break anything trying to force the switch out. Can anyone who has dealt with this stubborn switch before please tell me what the trick is to remove it. Then I can try to figure out how it can be adjusted. Thanks.

2012 griz 550, mods to do?

I have a 12 grizzly 550. bought as a left over in 2013,has just under 5k miles. I just changed both rear axles, new itp mudlites, it will be getting to brake pads next paycheck as there down to what id say s about 40-50% pad left. im happy with its power, but would like a little more grunt from it.. not too much more just a little more power when my thumb smashed the throttle. im okay if I loose a little top end, don’t wanna loose to much, but a little is fine. what can I do? don’t really have the money for an aftermarket exhaust and fuel programmer, however I have the baffle removed.. hope that’s okay! I own a little over 2000 acres that I rde on so the louder exhaust without the baffle is fine.. and hey, it sounds sweeeeeett!

Warn A2000?

Hi folks,

I have a Warn winch on a 91 Bear that hasn’t been used for about 20 years. Going by pictures on the web the only thing I can find with a butterfly/rotary switch is an A2000. Unfortunately I won’t know anything about it until it’s removed because I’m unable to read the label(s).

All I know is that the winch was included with the purchase of the quad when new, (I’m not the original owner).

If this turns out to be an A2000, would it be worth trying to salvage or better to buy new? I know there’s an upgrade kit available that replaces the switch, wiring harness and solenoid, for around $100 or so US. Also plan to replace the cable with synthetic. This "upgrade" is supposed to make it equal to an A2500Cl.

I know no name and cheaper winces can be had for $200 or so. Just curious as to what you would do in this situation.

Manual Shifting

Hey guys, new to the forum.

Looking at buying a quad, and have settled on a Grizzly 700.

Haven’t had a chance to look at any in person, so I have a question before I do…

Is there a manual gear selector on the Grizzly like the Rubicon (electronic shift button), is it pedal shift, or is it fully automatic?

Looking at pictures I only see a PRND shifter, and nothing for the actual 1,2,3,4,5.

Thansk.
