Good weekend at Attica IN Badlands

We rode at the Badlands in Attica IN this weekend. I put my new one way bearing to the test and it worked perfectly. The EPI purple spring and 1.5 mm shim were great.

I also learned that the local Polaris dealership rents the Ace machine for use in the park. I may try one next time we go just because they intrigue me.

Lots of wicked jeeps, side by sides, and all manner of ATVs!
Good times!

backfiring and popping

Hey guys I have a 2003 grizzly 660 and it runs great until I run it wide open, around 45 or 50mph it starts popping and cutting out on me… any suggestions on what that could be thanks

Any details on the coming 2016 Grizzly 450?

I was looking for a 2014 Grizzly EPS… the local dealer didn’t have one on the floor, but said he’d pull one from their inventory warehouse and call me when he got it in.

He followed up later saying that the 2016 Grizzly 450 was supposed to be "released" on June 5th, and I may want to wait to see what changes that model might have. He said the only info he had on it was that it was supposed to come in at a more competitive price point.

Whether that means it will be defeatured a bit or whether Yamaha is just lowering the price a bit, I don’t know. Either way, it could impact my decision (and the price) regarding the current 450 EPS.

I’ve searched the web a bit and haven’t been able to find any information… was wondering if anyone here might’ve heard.

After weeks of studying different makes and models, I thought I had it all figured out, then this news gets thrown into the works 🙂

thanks in advance,
dave

New CARB off EBAY (out of the box)

WOW – I feel I need to let you guys know the carb I bought off Ebay worked perfect – exactly as they claimed. This is what they say…

"This unit arrives complete and ready to install. As with all of our carburetors it has been airflow tested, mixture adjustments are optimized for installation, allowing you to take the carburetor out of the box, fasten it in place, connect the throttle cable, fuel line and start using your bike."

the ebay vendor was – ‘partdiscounter

And, what they say is true. Some of you may know, I recently acquired an 03′ Grizzly 660 with 350hrs and 1200 miles. It had been sitting for the last 5-6yrs outside uncovered.

I was tired of fooling around w/the rebuild kit, so, I took a chance. $111.00 was all it cost me.

I took it out of the box, (there was only one difference – the choke cable jet and spring were a little larger) I hooked the new carb up – and when I pushed the button – she purred like a kitten. I was amazed of how good she sounded and ran. It was immediate.

There were a few extra ‘jets’ in with the carb too. – #1.50 and #1.55 – Why?? what’s in the carburetor as it comes?

Well, awesome – is what it was. Yesterday after the quick install, I ended up going for about an 1.5hr ride with zero issues. She idles perfect and has great response Immediate.

here’s a pic of the different choke inserts, a spot on the trail I stopped at yesterday and the two different carbs ( the original and the new one)

RJWC exhaust??

I have a 2014 grizzly 700 almost fully loaded the only thing left is an exhaust and a programmer.. I was thinking about getting a RJWC. does anyone have any experience with them?? or of a better exhaust I should get. I want a B.A. deep sound that also boots performance.
