Modified Exhaust on 2016 Kodiak 700
Modified Exhaust on 2016 Kodiak 700, I’m sure this will work on the 2016 Grizzly 700 as well (same muffler). Well I had ordered the R2 tip for my exhaust and I was not impressed. After installing I took it for a ride and I noticed that it seemed to have a bit more power, but on the down side it has alot of popping and back firing on decel. I then spoke with a guy that was on a Grizzly and he and I got to talking and he showed me how he had modified his exhaust. It was an earlier Grizzly (unsure of the year) as it only had 3 bolts on the exhaust tip that he had made. He stated that he did not have any issues with it and doesn’t run a fuel tuner. So I took the idea and ran with it. I removed my exhaust tip and measured the outside diameter which was about 4 inches. So with that I cut out a 4 inch circle with a hole saw, then I started out by drilling the center out to 7/8inch which is the stock exhaust and then drilled the 4 mounting bolt holes 1/4 inch, then welded on a 4 inch long 7/8inch pipe with a slight down ward slope. Ran better then the stock exhaust, and no popping or back firing. So with that I set out to find out how bid of a pipe I could run without getting any I’ll effects (i.e popping or back firing). I went through 1 inch, 1 1/8 inch, 1 1/4 inch, 1 1/2 inch all with no ill effects, but did notice better acceleration with each size up. Then I went to 1 3/4 inch and started to notice a bit of popping on deceleration. So with that I stayed with 1 1/2 inch exhaust pipe approximately 4 inches long with downward slope, but not just a 90 degree like stock. I also cut a piece of screening material as a spark arrestor and tested the exhaust with it in and out (screen material) and I did notice a difference. I know that some places require the screen (spark arrestor) or you won’t be able to ride without it. Below are some pics of the exhaust as I designed it. Oh and it sounds great, not to quiet and not to loud, but just the right amount of power and sound. I will have it either powder coated or ceramic coated depending on how they begin to look. Total cost for mod, $15.00 (flat metal 4×8 inch and one 90 degree electric conduit pipe, both from Lowes)

“Gone Grizzly”
My baby was stolen from me. I’ve been to sad to talk about it on here, but good news has come!! I didn’t have it insured but my homeowners insurance is covering it!! So I soon will upgrade. The thieves really wanted my grizz. They busted my garage door lock, tore down gate fence that was concreted into ground, tore down privacy fence. Then they went into neighbors yard and tore down a locked gate, sawed through part of there porch then tore down another locked gate!!!lol. All for a 13 year old grizz!! If u think your stuff is secure u should rethink. I’m now on the lookout for a new grizz and any inquiries would b helpful!! Thank ya!!
Oh and I finally fixed the carb!! The next day it was gone!!!lol. I believe I was being watched

Cutting out
Yesterday I went on a ride on my 660 and if I shut it off even for a few minutes it would cut out when I went to give it throttle and I’m thinking it would not cool down that quick the temperature was just above freezing so I’m not sure what would cause this then after I ran it for a couple minutes it would clear out and run like normal again any ideas?? Thanks in advance
2016 700 Grizzly starter problem
2016 700 Grizzly with only 61 miles on it. First cold morning (-4C) bike would not start. lights were bright but starter would not roll engine. Took it to the dealer and they replaced the starter. Brought the bike home and parked it outside, three days later (-1C) tried to start bike ……. same problem. Bike is back at the dealer…
Anyone else had this issue?
New here buying a ’16 Grizzly need help on wich one
First post been lurking and reading here for about 2 weeks. After looking, reading, researching between the KQ750,the BF750 and the Grizzly I have decided on the Grizzly. Now I need to figure out wich one. The EPS or the SE. Originally I was gonna go for the LE but I see adding heated grips, thumb and seat will only be about 250 bucks if I add it myself. The windshield is not needed. It comes down to the wheels between the EPS and LE is it worth the extra 700? I know they will get chewed up a bit but would the 700 be better spent on aftermarket wheels while still keeping the stockers or is a decent set of aftermarkets gonna run alot more than 700 bucks and just go for the SE?
