2015 Grizzly 700 Dream Build For DrMud

Guys, I have been over the top…. lovey dovey with the wife, plus working hard to pull in the greenbacks, believe tomorow might be the Big Day, That she says "OK, go get a new Grizzly", and I say "Yes Honey, I Will".

So, lets just say, my trophy wife of twenty years gives me the green light. While not discussed, this married man knows the time to get stuff done, is when the wife says it is time to get stuff done….so, that means to me, mod time:

Help me run the list:

For Sure:
Machine will most likely be red, only one the dealer has. assume that. I think that it is growing on me. This is decided.

Moose fender flares, have them love them, done.

Yamaha front Brush Guard Bumper, have two, love it, done.

Same Rear bumper as my Green Grizz, gotta look, forgot brand, may take mine off, repaint and put on new one..or buy later "Insufficient Funds".

Variables not for sure:

Rims, liking those SS216,looks good on red, with 26" Bighorn originals? trading the original tires and those ss108’s with Swamplites in on it.

Winches, want one, thoughts?

Skid plates? Glide Plate? dunno, Factory Plates, Combo deal like I have on My Grizz? What is the consensus on the Glide Plate?

Any thoughts? What am I forgetting.

Time is of the essence, purchase ceremony will be tomorow. Your attendance tonight is appreciated.

power steering

so my brother snagged a 2014 700 eps for 7100 from a dealer that wanted the room for 2016’s, they only had 1 and it was still in the crate.
I rode it on pavement, and boy I sure like the power steering over my 2012, just a little speculation, if 1 were to some how get hold of a 2014 or newer power steering controller (same part no. for 14,15 and 16) I’m thinking that would give 1 the same ps mapping as the newer machines, or maybe there is some way to "flash the old controller to give the improved steering.
the pn for the power steering actuator is the same from 08 on. the ps controllers are all the same price, around 800 new.

Need some help (low end power)

05 grizzly 660, belt broke while riding at speed. Pulled apart, cleaned and regressed weights, installed factory belt, and now it will not hardly pull in high but acts normal in low?. My question is what could have been affected by the belt breaking? New to site and any help will be appreciated!

Grizzly 700 2014 vs 2015

I am waiting for the good "day old bread" price and trying to determine differences in these two machines.

The a-arm is the same, learned that.

I think that I understand the 15 has a little more torque?, a few more cc?

Anything else?

2016 Grease Zerks

Yamaha needs to pay more attention to what there doing the bottom rear zerks on my 2012 were hard enough to grease but this 16 I can’t do it . I got the beast up on my lift wheels off and 3 different adaptors for my gun and no way can I get onto them . What are you guys with the 14 and 15’s doing as my research leads me to think the arms/ hubs are the same . All they needed to do was put in like 45’s problem solved . Anyone with a 16 you have any tricks to grease them something so simple is one big PITA .

A bear followed me home…

…on a trailer the other day:happy2:. I picked up a 2016 Kodiak SE and will try and get some pictures posted later this week, because everyone here likes pictures.

I picked the SE because I think I "need" the diff lock. This is my first and probably last quad (at my age). I will use it for ice fishing, deer camp, and just riding around the trails. Hope I made the right choice.

Time is tight right now and I don’t expect to be able to ride much until mid-September. Then my time should free up, and I plan to ride extensively (for me). Plans are to mount a winch, some aux LED forward lighting, grip/thumb warmer, RAM bracket for gps, and cargo box(s?). I have all that stuff in the garage now except the cargo box.

One question at this point: I can’t seem to remove the V-Belt case drain plug. The owners manual doesn’t say if it is threaded (unscrew) or 1/4 turn, or just pull straight out. Seems like the plug is plastic and I don’t want to break it. Any help?
