ATV weights
One of the things I’ve been amazed at is the difference in reported weight for different ATVS.
Example:
2016 Yamaha Grizzly 700 SE – 692 wet (so around 665 dry?).
2016 Arctic Cat Alterra 700 (single cylinder 700 engine w power steering). Dry weight is 750 pounds!
Why are Yamaha ATVs so much lighter? I get the Can Ams will be heavier because they are twins.
Any thoughts? Thanks.
Help!!!!!!
Can Am Outlander or Yamaha Grizzly??? Here’s the hard truth for you…………
Think this is exaggerated? Think again it’s not. Can Am has a dirty reputation most people don’t know not to mention the United States Consumer Products Safety Commission and Can Am / BRP are getting to know each other very well right now on a number of things. Enjoy and buy smart after doing your homework.

I cannot get the dash to go into DIAG mode, followed the instructions, held buttons for 30 sec. So I need help. I’m investigating the Lean Angle Sensor now….
200 mile service, factory torque
Shopping for ATV, Can Am vs. 2016 Grizzly
Top end speed is not important to me. I’m looking for:
quality and reliability;
great handling; and
technical ability.
As far as price, the deals on the Can Ams may be a bit better, but they are pretty close. The Cam Am XTs do come with a winch and bumpers vs. the Grizzlys.
Been reading a lot online about the Can Am vs. Yamaha opinions. Curious what Grizzly owners here think about these choices. Thanks in advance.
What size winch?
Thanks.
