Snow Plow Front Mount Install with Yamaha HD Front Bumper

If you are interested in adding a permanent front mount plow system to your Grizzly but you have a Yamaha HD front bumper, you will need to modify the front mount to be able to fit. I recently added the Cycle Country front mount plow system to my ’07 Grizzly 700 and had to make a couple of cuts to the front mount for it to fit. I do not know if the Warn ProVantage front mount will need modification but after studying the pictures, I am of the belief the Warn front mount will not work without modification. If someone takes the plunge and finds it does fit along with the Yamaha HD front bumper, please update this thread and I will change the original post to reflect the new information.

Question: Didn’t I already have a slow plow? Yes, I did already have a snow plow but it was a smaller plow, 52” and was a universal mid-plow mount. The “problem” I had with my original purchase was that the blade was too small. The width of the blade was problematic as snow spilled out the sides frequently and also over the top. Where I live, I frequently get storms that drop 10” + of very light snow and a larger blade should have been part of the original purchase. I really should have thought out my original purchase better as I rushed to purchase an ATV plow without fully thinking it through… add that I was able to get a very good price on the original plow kit and rushed to make a premature purchase.

So after two seasons plowing with the smaller plow, I ended up purchasing a 60” Cycle Country Poly plow with front mount. I went front mount to allow the mount to stay on the Grizzly year round and, admittedly, I was envious of Rio’s front mount where he keeps the mount on year round. Anyway… here is what is needed, along with pictures, to get the Cycle Country front mount to the fit with the Yamaha HD front bumper.

Cycle Country Front Mount Grizzly 700/550 plow system – this is using a fully boxed horizontal bar that allowed me to modify the bar for my purposes by making two cuts into it which I feel do not compromise the strength of the front mount for ATV plowing duty.

For comparison: Warn Front Mount Grizzly 700/550 plow system – notice that Warn uses an angle iron style horizontal bar with additional round horizontal bar with drop tabs. I do not know if this will fit with the Yamaha HD front bumper without modification to the front bar or HD bumper.

Here is the CC front mount after modifications were done. I had to make two cuts in the horizontal bar and also drill four holes in my Warn winch plate. The four holes drilled into the Warn winch plate was so I could avoid using the additional plate, third item in this picture. I didn’t feel that the third plate would be able to fit since space is somewhat tight.

This picture shows everything installed after the modifications were done. Two U-bolts hold the front mount, four bolts between the winch plate and front mount and two additional bolts hold the winch plate to the vertical components to the Grizzly frame. There are also two additional bolts that mount on the front horizontal section of the Warn winch plate.

This picture shows the two drop tabs on the front mount that slide over the outside of the bottom tabs of the HD front bumper… both get bolted to the frame.

Different view of everything in place. Everything fits nicely and will not rub when out having fun in the dirt. The A-arm guard looks close but there is actually about 2" of space between the guard and front mount.

So, there it is. This took the better part of a day to get the modifications done and everything mounted up. I admit that I took my time making sure to measure ten times and cut once. At $120 for the front mount… I didn’t want to ruin it by rushing to modify.

I am pleased with the results.

Grizzly 350 exhaust

I have a 2014 Grizzly 350 4×4 and want to replace the stock exhaust with a hmf performance. but hmf doesnt make the performance series for a 2014 only for a 2011 . so my question is will the 2011 model fit my 2014?

Will it fit?

I’m wanting to get a warn provantage front mount plow for my 09 700. How does it bolt up, I made my own winch plate and it sounds like the the front mount bolts up around the winch plate or something. Do I have to have a specific plate? Or will my custom one still work?

Heat Demon Grips and Passenger Seat Handles?

Hi guys,

Purchased a used 2011 Yamaha Grizz 550 EPS this summer with about 350 miles on it (older fella used it here and there since new). I have two kids (younger than 6) who enjoy going out with me down some forestry road type riding trails.

Now that the weather is colder, my little guy is complaining that his hands get cold after about half an hour. He sits on a rear seat/cargo box combo that I picked up on Amazon.ca (sorry not enough posts to link)

I will be using the ATV for plowing in the winter, and I was wondering if anyone has purchased the heat demon quad-zone grip heater system and wired it to heat rear handle grips? If I’m going to be installing a system like this for myself, it would be nice to get some heat in the back for the little guy. Part of the problem is the wind protection (or lack thererof) for the hands. The alternative is to cut some kind of rubber protector and make the hand pockets a little taller.

Also, am I going to run into problems with too much power draw if I have all 4 hand grip heaters going at the same time, and my 14" LED light bar? I’m looking at:

Light Bar = 72 W
Heated Grips = 85 W (20 per grip and 5 thumb warmer)

Total = 160 W/12v = 13.3 A

Is this too much additional draw on the battery? I don’t see too many occasions where I’d need to have this "all on" but you never know. Its something to consider anyway.
