Hello From Walter In Chicago / UP MI

Hi Everyone,

I learned about this forum a few weeks ago.
In May I purchased 2 2015 Sportsman 570s w. EPS and today I purchased a 95 Magnum 425 4×4. I love the 2015s, the 425 is a project, I’m told it has a seized trans. I usually ride in Republic Township MI. I live in Northern Chicago suburbs but have my summer home in the UP. Great to meet you. Hope to be here for a long time and learn lots!

2 new machines

hello from Chicagoland.
over the winter I picked up 2 machines, an 01 Scrambler and an 07 Sportsman 500HO.

I’ve had yamaha racers in the past, so I’m not used to the CVT setup and could use some pointers.

On the Scrambler, I have to rev up a bit to get it to take off. If you punch the throttle at a dead stop it will rev up, engage hard and flip right over. if you slowly rev it will slowly start to engage.
I’ve changed the belt with no change in performance. (the one I pulled out looks brand new too). I raised the idle and that seemed to help a lot.. but going on sound only it sounds too high to me. Advice?

On the Sportsman, we noticed last week that it no longer hits 57mph.. it’s hitting about 45. I used that machine to plow a lot over the winter.. I haven’t checked the belt yet, but is it possible I smoked the belt and why I lost the top end? The machine has 1600 miles on it, and I’m reading about guys getting 4000 miles out of belts…

Also, this machine doesn’t like to go into low gear unless I let it idle all the way down, hold the brake, and jiggle the shifter in low. if I don’t, half the time it just grinds. Loudly.

thanks

Hello from Texas

Hello all, I am a new member. I have a 2015 Scrambler 1000. It’s just about stock. I’ve got some custom a-arm guards I built off of a design I found on an European website.

For those interested, I ride this bike very hard. The type of riding that my compadres and I do leaves someone broke every ride, but that someone has yet to be me. Big thumbs up for Polaris from me.

That being said; I’ve rolled this bike crawling out at Hidden falls, and been very stuck in East Texas a time or two. I currently need to replace my instrument cluster and belt. I’m shopping for wheels and tires, and any other advise to bullet proof this machine.

Hello from Ohio

Hello all, new member here from Ohio. I have ridden plenty of friends quads and will hopefully be picking up one for myself near the end of the year, pretty sure it will be a Polaris Scrambler. Been reading on here for a while, figured I should finally post an introduction as I’m sure I will have plenty of questions. :beerchug:

Hello from Alaska

Hello,
Here are a few pictures of my 2015 Sportsman 850.

I just finished putting on some ITP SS212 14" rims and 27" Mega Mayhems.
I know these rims are on a ton of machines out there. I got a smoking good deal on them and I think they look pretty damn good on this wheeler.

Let me know what you think.

Take Care!
