Good Evening from South Dakota

Howdy Polaris fans!
Enjoy the heck out this forum site and being part of it – still trying to get it figured out, will get there
Wife and I started wheeling a couple years ago and have found it to be our favorite recreation yet – have done the fishing thing, have done the Harley thing and still enjoy them all but…dig wheelin the most.
started with a couple older sportsman 500’s to see if we liked it – now have 2 2015 1000 XP’s one camouflage and a bronze mist touring – in heaven when we ride – amazing machines!!!! wife thinks I may have gotten a bit carried away with these but oh man, they are awesome!
We are spoiled being from eastern South Dakota, we can head west to the Black Hills, head east to Minnesota and Wisconsin –
Look forward to reading everyone’s threads regarding trails, any issues, good stuff!
Later all !

New From Oklahoma

Hi all I just purchased my first bike a couple weeks ago. I had been lightly looking and came across a deal I felt I could not pass up, so I am now the proud owner of a 2015 Polaris Sportsman 570SP.

It is used but only has 40 miles on it. It came with the Polaris 3500HD winch. I am wanting to get some extras but thought I would get some expert opinions first. The things I want/need are as follows:

Brush Guard
GURU? Viking?

Front and Rear Rack extensions

What are the best Gun/Bow Racks?

Any input or must do modifications would be appreciated!

new to this site, not new to polaris,,, we just picked up 2 new 2015’s 570’s sportsmens. and one county plow,, with and extra mount for our 2 old models that are 2002 500HO’s. we can beat on them for plowing this winter rather than the new ones.. Yet I will plow some just for the use of the new ones for the warranty period,, incase something is not right,, then when winter really gets here,, we will hammer on the old ones. we never plowed with wheelers before we also live on lake superior,, so we get our share of lake effect. I have a serious plow for the long driveway,, and large lot,,, buy mama don’t like it,, its your tipical rusty old one ton diesel with a 10 foot boss.. she cant see over the wheel. and Im gone all day. so I hope she likes these.

plus we picked up the new hobby of riding this summer since we have an empty nest,, and the old atv’s were still in the yard and have survived all our kids abuse in their growing up.. happy trails to everyone and hope to find everything I need to here… I am a techy,, and seem to do all our own repairs,, and upgrades.. on everything… these are brand new to me,, did not even know they are now all computered,, with EFI too now.. so Im ready to listen..

Hello all. Bought my first new machine recently. ’15 850SP. And I love it! I want to say thanks to everyone who has contributed objective comments in the past. I have been reading through forums for a long time and have learned a lot about the general qualities of various makes/models.

A little about myself. Grew up with access to a couple ATV’s which were used on a friends farm. A 300ish CC Suzuki and a 400 2 stroke Polaris. A few years ago I moved to Wisconsin and my coworkers would find a machine for me to use and invite me on day trips. Among them were late 90s King Quads and Eigers. Then I borrowed a friends 2005 KQ 700 and fell in love! I bought a 2006 KQ last year and had problem after problem. Not bashing it though. I think the previous owner did a great job of covering up the issues.

After a couple years of riding I found the type of riding I like best. Scenic trails, multi day camping with whatever fits on machine, trails at night, an occasional pass through the mud, and the low speed technical "can we get through that" type of riding.

After a sudden engine issue(blue smoke) I decided to look around and ended up choosing between a couple machines on end of year clearance. An Outlander 650XT and Polaris 850SP. Obviously went with the Polaris. No single reason. I liked the engine in the Outlander better but everything else on the Polaris suited me. Both are awesome machines!

I live in the Fox Valley area and often ride the Dusty trails (Oconto county), Norway Trails, Dunbar-Goodman, and Harrison Hills area. I try to gopro trails just so others can see what they are like.

Thanks guys!
