Hey everybody how’s it goin? New here to the forum and new to polaris machines so I’m a little stumped on this 86 trailboss 250 I picked up over the weekend d for $200. Im not new to atvs and am mechanically just dont know what to do with this machine looms like a mini snowmobile motor haha. Let me break down what I’ve found out so far about it……
it’s a real 96 had the vin ran at a dealership.
There is no shift knob for this machine…where is it.suppsed to be located and where does it hook into the transmission?
What size stock carb does it have?
Any known issues with these machines?
Is there any performance upgrades for these that are decent or keep it stock?
How are the tranny on these? Do they require a lot of maintenance or are they strong runners?
I’ll have a whole bunch more questions when I get the chance to keep going into it.

hello my name is kevin. from northcentral wisconsin. new to polaris atvs. bought an old 1994 polaris sportsman 350 2 stroke with plow [and issues lol] to do snow removal and of course for fun too. anyway im hoping to get to know you all and hopefully glean some info from the board on upkeep and repair on this quad. thanks

I’m new to the site and new to polaris.
I have recently acquired a 04 polaris 330 magnum awd,
It has 110 hours. I got it from a neighbor who is moving and has let it sit for 3 year’s. Of course it did not run, so after a new battery, solenoid, coil and wire assembly, spark plug, fresh oil, fresh gas and a new kill switch. It’s running great now ,the only issue I have now is that the A frame bushings on the front are completely gone. Does anyone know if this is a easy fix at home or is this something I should take to a professional?

Looking for some help my 2011 500ho battery light (box) keeps coming on, I have put a new battery in and still the light comes and goes, everything is nice and tight so I did a quick voltage check at the battery and it was like 12.9 volts but after a week it went dead so I recharged and did a check on the battery while running and it said 14.8 another check showed it when the light was on at 17.4 and another showed it at less then 12.0 telling me it was running off the battery. So does this sound like a voltage regulator/rectifier box or a stator problem? I have checked it when I was done and the bike was off showed 12.7 volts 2 days later 12.3 so I am thinking it’s the regulator box as the stator shouldn’t be drawing any juice but have seen the boxes short out and draw power .any help or thoughts would be appreciated as there is no return on electrical items.
