Relocation Kit for RZR Voltage Regulator
The stock placement of the voltage regulator on the RZR is directly behind the plastic near the trailing arm connection. This puts the Voltage Regulator in direct line of mud, water, and debris, with minimal airflow. The lack of airflow has led to failures of the Voltage Regulator due to shorting out and overheating issues. The regulator has a thermal shutoff, but we feel that a fused connection would be a much better safety measure against failure, protecting the machine and its electronics particularly in the case of a short circuit, thus we have included an in-line 40 AMP fuse to the power connection.
Allegheny Off Road has developed a Voltage Regulator Relocation Kit which is completely plug and play. Simply remove it from its stock location, run the harness down the driveline channel, and mount it on our bracket which will be installed on the front end on the frame located behind the headlight. This gives the Voltage Regulator instant airflow, yet keeps it far from the radiator to not absorb heat. (heat soak is a big concern for the rock crawling guys and people who idle their machines for long periods).
The kit includes a plastic mounting bracket, plug and play wrapped wiring harness, and all the associated hardware needed for mounting and running to the new location.

So we have developed a kit which limits how much it can actually pull for maintaining the battery life over time. Our kit has a re-settable breaker rated at 150 amps. If you go over that, just push the breaker closed again and keep going. This kit also has the correct wire gauge for carrying that amount of power. This is the kit needed for snow plows, stereos, and high power needs in a RZR. The kit has 2 batteries which are predetermined to not only fit in the RZR, but allow you to run devices for lengthy periods of time without any worry of not having enough power to restart your machine should you stop. In particular when plowing you can pull up to 300 amps when at its max pulling power. That’s a ton power which would kill a stock battery quickly! We make a winch wiring kit with a resettable breaker for just that very reason. With this dual battery kit we are using the proven technique of isolating power to charge the battery from the starter battery first and when fully charged switch to the accessory battery and charge it fully. This assures you will never be left stranded with a dead battery to start your machine to get home. The idea of this kit also allows the winch to be run for extended periods when snow plowing and not the battery and stop you from finishing plowing. The batteries consist of an Odyssey PC925 as the starter battery, which will be located in the stock second battery location in the RZR. The main battery will be replaced with an Odyssey PC1200 and will become the accessories/winch battery. This is double the amount of battery capacity for just the accessories alone! The PC925 has been the go to battery for the RZR 800 for years now and gives you all that you would need for starting and the essentials of the machine. This also has the correct wire gauge for carrying the amount of power needed for the kit. This has everything you need to do the installation including wire and terminated ends. The total draw on the kit is rated at 100 amps max. This is a marine grade fuse block that’s intended to be mounted on the front firewall of the machine. This kit also hooks up the stock 3 post distribution block as well, allowing for the accessories to be either all keyed on or constantly hot. Once the 3 post stock block is connected, you can also use the keyed on connection separately but still is rated to 100 amps max for everything. When you buy the machine stock the stock front distribution block is NOT connected. This gives you all the power you should need to run heaters, stereos, lighting, cell phone chargers, etc. with the quality connections that a RZR needs in harsh conditions of water, mud, and snow.
