Hey all, I ended up taking my 1000 rock crawling because my 900 was down. I didn’t know initially we were going to do such serious crawling, but I couldn’t back down. As a result both of my lower radius rods are a bit bent (barely visible to the naked eye).
I’d like to get the 1000 ready for rocks. I don’t think I’m going as extreme as the 900, as it still will be intended to be the rock buggy but I still want the 1000 to be better prepped next time. I’m going to order Factory UTV skids for the car like my 900 has (I really like them) but I also need to get radius rods?
What are the best set for crawling? A buddy of mine has the ZBros and it looks like their high-clearance lowers have a sort of flat bottom side that should slide better on rocks. Any other thoughts? Are there any radius rod setups that have a replaceable skid of any sort? It seems like a bolt-on delrin pad under the radius rod would be ideal.
