I have a detached garage/shop that I’ve been considering putting solar panels on so that I don’t have to pay a secondary hookup fee and run a second electric meter. Plus, it would be really nice to be able to power all of my tools and be able to run heat and AC in the shop without feeling the pain of another large electric bill.
Up until now, there wasn’t really a good solution for storing the energy from the solar panels if I wasn’t in the shop during the day or only had time to be in there on a dreary rainy day.
Solution? How about the new Tesla Powerwall system? Anyone look into this yet?
I’ve been working on compiling more information for those who are interested in this system here: Using the Tesla Powerwall With Solar Panels | Tesla Energy Forums
