A few pics from Sutton Bluff

My wife and I loaded up the machines yesterday and headed to south east Missouri to ride at Sutton Bluff. This was the first time we had ever been there. Sutton Bluff is located in the Mark Twain National Forest located near Centerville Missouri. The bluff is part of the west fork of the Black river. This area is part of the St Francois Mt. area. The highest peak north of this area is at 1,770 feet. There is a really nice campground there with about 35 sites. We parked there for a day ride. This area is absolutely gorgeous. The area consist of 12 trail systems and 2 are closed for repairs. The trails are accessed from numerous county and US Forest roads. This is some seriously thick forest! At times you could not see more than about 20 feet into the forest. The trails do a lot of winding thru the hills and we crossed numerous creeks and streams. We saw some deer and turkey along the ride.

I had put off going here because I could not justify the 2 1,2 hour drive for 26 miles of trails. What I did not realize is to access that 26 miles of trails you do a lot of riding on the county and forestry roads. So in 5 hrs of riding we covered trails 3,4,12 and 10. We had a very enjoyable ride and and we will definitely be going back to cover the other trails. Looking forward to doing a trip there in the fall.

So here are a few pics.
