Washed my 2014 XP1000 after a long ride today.
No issues during the ride. When I turn the key to the on position everything is normal, lights, gauge, fuel pump etc come on.
When I go to crank the motor I get the clicking sound of the starter solenoid like the battery is dead. Volt meter shows 12.5V.
I tried bypassing the relay by jumping the terminals with a screwdriver. No luck as it sounds like the starter is bound up.
I tried using my battery charger to spin the starter directly and it seems to be the same as if I were to jump the terminals on the starter relay.
My only guess here is the starter got wet and killed itself? Seems weird it would go out from wash.
Why would the starter relay be clicking if the starter is dead?
Any thoughts?
Thanks….
