Huge shout out to Dalton and Hunterworks

I have a stock motor Xp41k Cage, seats, stereo stock wheels and tires . I live in Northern Arizona 5250 feet altitude. Up here my Rzr has never hit peak rpm with the stock clutching. I would nail the gas rpm would quickly climb to 7000 rpm and just sit there. From day one to 1400 miles. I have only ever burned up one belt and that was in Glamis on stock big horns. But I knew this machine was faster then it was.

Don’t get me wrong my machine even up here would hit 80mph it just took forever to get there once shifted out it would eventually get up to 8000 rpm and 80 mph it just took forever. Knowing that I just purchased the new GMZ XL paddles and 406 Method beadlocks. I wanted to make sure that at camp rzr I could dial in my clutch for these massive tires.

So what did I do… What the smart guys and UTV Racer World Champinon Branden Sims (local guy btw) did went with a Dalton Clutch. I actually bought a Heal Clicker first I just never installed it once I seen some of the pictures some of the guys were posting of their clutches.

Anyway I called Hunterworks and spoke to Todd, told him my setup and he shipped out a Dalton Xp4 clutch and Spring Compressor. Amazing how quick it got here 2 days. Borrowed a primary puller from Branden Sims and went to work. Got the clutch out cleaned everything replaced 2 lightly flat spotted secondary rollers. And installed the Dalton. I have never worked on a UTV clutch before but by looking at Hunterworks videos it was stupid easy. And took a total of about 2 hours to do. Got it all buttoned up and went for a short ride around the neighborhood to warm it up and break in the new belt. Then took it out to one of the main roads and hammered it instantly shot up to 8100 rpm and took off like it has never done up here. INSTANT Smile !!!

Before replacing the clutch I have a road that I have tested on many times. I always take off from the same place asphalt and to the street sign down the way I always hit about 50mph. I really wanted to see if I was getting a placibo effect or something so I drove down there and did the test from the same spot. By the time I hit the sign I was doing 70mph :drive1: .

The thing I honestly like the most is how easy it is to change the weight. All I had to do is pull the belt cover and use the t handle allen to screw the weight out of the end of the fly weights super fast and easy. Hell easier then replacing a belt. LOL

I want to thank Todd from hunterworks for all his help, and selling me the best thing I have done to my Rzr  Outstanding guy to deal with and amazing service.

Anyone on the fence thinking about getting a clutch DO IT!!!! its worth every penny!!!

My new Dune setup 🙂
