Newbie looking for help on purchasing a used machine for snow plowing. I would like to spend $6k tops.
This will be used primarily for plowing a driveway in Colorado at an elevation of 9300 ft. In summer some occasional light off road and trips on dirt roads to the mail box.
I have looked around the site some and I’m partial to the Rubicon because of the drive system. I would also like it to have EFI due to the elevation.
I have a 2015 grizzly 700. It’s almost a year old and I was wondering how often some of you change your spark plugs. Also is there another plug that holds up better than the stock one? NGK is a pretty good brand so I was thinking of staying the same.
intermittent Error code 0 102..happens more when engine is cold and going downhill on compression(not giving any throttle). Problem goes away after bike runs fro a while
consistent error code 0 520230 with loss of power steering.
So I was lucky enough to score a 2014 XMR rolling chassis (only missing engine) from a repo sale. I already own a 2013 1000 xt outlander. My plan so far is to transplant the XMR Rad on to my bike and go from there. I have a ton of questions for the gurus!
Are the diffs/axles/a arms and all that actually different? The rumor is that XMR diffs are built heavier.
I feel like the bike is taller. Would it be worth the effort to transplant the air ride fox shocks? Are the shocks taller?
What would y’all switch over? Or should I just transplant the motor? Never done it but how hard can it be??
Please help.. PS This is the extended frame XMR and I have a one seater XT. Doubt that the drive shaft fits anyways. But that’s just one more question
Anyone heard when the 2017 Sportsman 1000’s will be in dealerships? Contacted my local dealer about trading my 800 for one and they said they’d have to order one but never gave a time frame on how long it’d take them to get it.
I had my 2014 700 out today after I had the the primary sheave out. I had it machined by Glenlivet. I did the install myself with guidance from this great forum. I rode for 2.5 hours and the bike ran well. It makes a loud whining sound relative to speed and load. There is no knocking or weird sounds, just a loud whirring sound. It’s not terribly loud, but it competes with the exhaust to give you an idea. Is this how these things sound? It’s my first cvt quad and I only rode it once last winter right after I bought it. It only has 37 hours on it.
Hey guys just wondering if anybody else has problem with the stock holeshots that come stock I’ve rode my atv 5 times and every single time I’ve had flat tires, does anybody recommend any tire similar in characteristics but just more durable?!
A couple of photos attached of the homemade Bear Spray holder I installed today.
I used a couple of 4" to 3" PVC reducers, a 3" coupler and a 4" PVC cap. Glued them all together and painted black to match my front storage. My bear spray/velcro holster fits perfectly inside and is now within reach and ready for any "quickdraw" situation!
