I’ve posted this thread on the Renegade section, but thought it would be useful to get an opinion from Outlander riders (plus there are more people currently viewing!).
To cut a long story short, I’m a current 2012 Outlander XMR 800 owner from the UK (Surrey), and could really do with some advice regarding my next purchase! Having competed in Croatia Trophy this year my bike is pretty battered and has been unreliable, and I’m tempted with a good deal I’m being offered on a 2016 Renegade 570 X XC – I’m drawn to the reliability of the G2 over the G1 as well as the 3 year warranty as I have limited time (and expertise) to do a great deal of mechanical stuff myself so this is a pretty big factor for me.
I have a slight concern though – a couple of people have mentioned that the SWB of the Renegade will make the steep ascents / descents and off camber stuff more tricky / less stable – I’ve only ever experienced the LWB XMR Outlander so I’d be really interested on rider experiences of this before I push the button on the purchase. My riding terrain when we compete is pretty extreme so don’t want to make life more difficult or dangerous!! My riding partner uses a LWB Outlander so I need to make sure that he doesn’t end up with an advantage over me or I’ll end up slowing him down in a competitive event.
I do like the idea of something more agile and lighter, and I think I’m less concerned about the power as I tend not to use it on the road or for fast xc, it’s more around the ability on the technical stuff. However I would also be interested in opinions on this.

Where can I find a Fuel Controller/Programmer for a 2016 Outlander L450 Max?
Also maybe an Exhaust system to help it flow better and get the Heat Down.
Thanks.Zr

I’m a current 2012 Outlander XMR 800 owner from the UK (Surrey), and could really do with some opinions regarding my next purchase! Having competed in Croatia Trophy this year my bike is pretty battered but more importantly has been slightly unreliable over the last 12 months. I’ve been offered a good deal on a new 570 Renegade X XC and am considering changing – I’m drawn to the reliability of the G2 over the G1 as well as the 3 year warranty, as well as the agility of a Rene over a heavier Outlander XMR.
I have a couple of concerns – the riding I do is pretty extreme and am planning on competing again next year at the Croatia Trophy event – having never ridden a SWB, am I going to find less stabiility with the SWB of the Rene over the LWB XMR? I’d be interested in people’s experiences of whether the Rene is a bit ‘tippy’ when going up / down the really steep stuff?

Anyone know if the 2017 XP 1000 muffler will fit the 2015 and 2016 Sportsman 1000?
Especially if it’s new and improved, it would be an excellent option for those that have suffered heat/melt (LIKE ME!!!) issues with the original!

So after picking up my Sportsman a couple weeks ago, got it home and noticed that the left rear axle is junk. Called up the guy that I got it from and he "forgot" to mention it to me. Yeah ok lol.
So I ordered a new axle, whatever. However now I am having a HELL of a time getting the old one out. I’ve soaked it in PB blaster and everyone I’ve talked to said they just "pull right out." Well after a couple hours and many newly invented curse words later, it is still in there.
Anyone have any ideas on how to pull this sucker out? I’ve actually pulled so hard on the axle now that it has separated itself from the collar and I’m just pulling on the boot.:crying:
