So I noticed in the user manual that the battery in a grizzly is an AGM battery and requires a special charger. What types of chargers do all of you use on your batteries? Has anyone replaced the AGM battery with a regular battery after the OEM batt went bad? AGM batteries seem like a better choice for a quad because of resistance to vibrations though.
Picked this up for a smokin’ deal while on vacation. Runs like new, fenders are rough on one side where it was rolled, but other than that it’s pretty clean! Love these ATC’s, they’re a blast from the past when Honda was on top in reliability AND performance!
I want to replace bleeder screws on a 2002 Sportsman 700. I want to put some newfangled bleeder screws on. My choices are 7mm x 1.0 or 8mm x 1.25. Anybody know what size I should get? These are from Royal Distributing, and there site is not very friendly, especially for a computer illiterate like me. Thanks in advance. m.breen.
I have a 13 scrambler 850 limited edition with a busted front diff. Input plate broke, took out a couple gears and messed up the case where the bearing goes. Anyways, I was trying to find one cheaper than the $1500 they cost and came across a couple diff part numbers that I was told would work. First is 1333392 for a 2015 sportsman that I’m told is the same except it has adc which just wouldn’t be used. It’s brand new but I see that year sportsman had issues with a plastic cage in the diff and has been replaced with a new part number. Kinda messed up that shops are selling these as overstocked items with no warning of the issue.
2nd one is 1333391 for a 2015 scrambler. Will this still work in a 2013 and did these have the same plastic cage issue as the one in the 2015 sportsman? They are both new and around 1/2 the price, if I have to I can change the cage I guess, and I have the thicker input plate already to install on the new diff.
Hi everyone just joined this forum and there looks to be a lot of interesting info on here. Just picked myself up an atv that runs but need a few parts and a general tidy up. It’s a honda big red. I’ve have the serial number off the engine which is TE15E 8731896 I’m just wondering if anyone can tell me the model and year etc for ordering spare parts. Ive had a look on the front of the frame where I was told I would find the details of the quad but it’s been painted at some point and the sticker is long gone. Any help appreciated. Cheers
Hey all, new here and I just picked up my first ATV. Its a 2004 400EX that ran good when I bought it and good when I took it out for the maiden voyage. The only issue it had when I was riding it through the trails is it wouldn’t idle at all, kept just dying on me whenever we would stop, a little throttle and it was fine so I assumed I needed to clean the carb and get some new gas.
Pulled the carb apart and soaked it in the gallon carb cleaner and she came out nicely. It had a 175 main jet but only running a UNI filter, so I installed a 152 jet and a new 42 slow jet hoping to make it idle better incase the old jets didn’t come clean.
Put it back together and no start at all. It fired for a second with the choke fully on but I had to give it tons of throttle to keep it going. Took the carb off and checked it over and its all good.
Pulled the plug and it was fouled black, likely from to big of a jet, so new plug in and I have good spark but still won’t run.
Checked and reset the valve clearances and still no fire. Pulled the valve cover off and it looked the cam was a tooth off. Pulled the tensioner out, reset the cam so it lined up right and put it back together. Again, no fire.
I’m pretty lost as to what to do now. Any suggestions? I really wanted to ride this weekend but its looking like that isn’t going to happen now.
Looking to get new tires for a 2016 Polaris sportsman 570, would like them to fit on the stock rims, use the four wheeler to play around in the mud, and sand pits.
I’m only 5’8" and have a 2012 850 SPortsman Tour. HO. that I ride about 80% of the time standing up. If the bars were approx 1-2" higher it would be absolutely perfect.
Anyone ever put different (specifically taller) bars on? What about just adding a riser?
I would imagine that ya can’t go too high as it would require new, longer cables (throttle, brake, etc.)?
