Hi everyone, A friend and I rebuilt a Trx 200 for his dad.Machine was smoking bad so we had the cylinder bored .50mm over.New piston,rings, gaskets,and cam chain,lapped valves and new valve seals. Machine cranks,idles,and runs great.Rode it around gently to seat rings and appeared to have done so.Had a little smoke at startup but none after that.Now when machine is rode it will overheat to the point of melting plastic on inside of fender and fuel tank will be extremley hot to the touch.Hope someone has an answer for this.I have rebuilt hundreds of Honda atv’s over the years and have never seen this.Please help. I hope this is in the right spot. I have a 2002 trail boss 325. Just recently the electric start and the indicator lights for reverse and neutral stopped working. I opened her up to check the wiring. Doesn’t mean I didn’t miss something but I saw nothing unplugged or severed…..has anyone else ever had this problem? They did at one point start working for a short time, but quickly stopped again….. Is my ecm bad? What dont I see? I’m losing my mind. Any input would be greatly appreciated!

New here and looking for some knowledge/advice. I will try and keep this short and simple.

Bought a used 2013 420 a few weeks ago and everything has been great. Rode it Sunday for about 2-3 hours and the bike ran perfect. Started it Monday night and it had a noticeable tick while idling. Tick seems to go away when at higher RPMs and the bike still runs great, plenty of power, no smoke etc… Did a little research and decided to check the valves. Valves are set correctly. Pulled the motor off the bike, pulled the cylinder and everything looks great. Removed front cover to inspect the cam chain/tensioner and both are in great shape. Played around spinning the crank by hand and trying to listen for sounds and i noticed that the exhaust side cam follower ticks when it hits the decompressor cam on the camshaft. Could that be the problem? I took a video of the ticking and a picture of the wear pattern the cam follower is leaving on the decompressor.

Anyone have any suggestions for me to try. I have a 550 fuel injected here and it simply wont idle. It will start and if I give it gas will run but if I let off gas it just dies off. And sometimes even with giving it gas it just shuts down.

It kind of idles down and shuts off, like its not getting fuel.

No error codes on screen.
The TPS checks in range.

Starts up pretty good.

I’m thinking I have to check fuel pressure next but would appreciate any suggestions. I changed the plug a few weeks ago could it be fouled out already?
