2003 Polaris sportsman 700 overheating

Hey all, new to the forum but I picked up a 2003 700, was running good but then the t in the radiator hose shattered when the kid was running it, long story short it got to like 250 degrees (have a aftermarket temp gauge on it) well they pieced it back together and put water out of the cooler full of ice in it. I replaced the head gasket now it doesn’t blow anti freeze out of the overflow resivor but it still gets to like 250 degrees…. Doesn’t boil over until I open the rad cap just a little. Jacked up the front end to purge it to get the air out. Another thing I noticed is it now sounds like it’s shifting into a different gear when you accelerate with it. It’s not loosing antifreeze but is it possible the head.is cracked from the cold water? And it only acts up going down the road. Sitting idling it will climb to like 220 fan comes on and it drops to like 160 ish. I cleaned out the rad and made sure the thermostat was working properly. Just don’t understand it. Thanks for any and all help

Recon seal part number?

Anyone know what the part number is for this seal? Going to visit my local honda dealer tomorrow but wanted to check with the experts first since it seems online is a lot cheaper than the dealers. I’ve searched partzilla and a few other places and cannot seem to find this seal. It’s on the rear, opposite side of the brake drum. It fits right in the end of the axle tube. Partzilla doesn’t show it on their site (at least I can’t find it), and I ordered the three seals that they show but this one is way different than those. Working on a 2000 Honda Recon TRX250Y. Any help would be appreciated.

Broken brake discs

Hi. I have a 2010 Sportsman 500 ho, with 2500 miles of use.
Checking the condition of the brakes, I found that the brake discs (rotors) were completely damaged.

The rear disc is the one that had the worst damage

Anyone know what could be the reason for this?
