So I hate to ask for help on my first post, but it is what it is.
The ATV I’m having a issue with is a 1998 Fortrax 300 2wd. The issue is that I think the ignition control module ("ICM" in the shop manual) has died; there is no spark. My problem is that;
1. The dealership I usually used has dropped the Honda brand, so it looks like I have to mail order.
2. I’m not positive the ICM is dead, but I did go through all of the troubleshooting steps in the repair manual and the ICM is the suspect.
3. The oem replacement part is ~$150 but I’m not positive it is the correct part.
Any suggestions on what to do would be very appreciated. My fear is that I get the oem part and it doesn’t fix the issue and/or there is a aftermarket part for a different year/model that would work. Apologies for the long winded post, I’ve been racking me brain for awhile. Thank you in advance.

Yes, I have an older bike but just bought a KFI winch and kit. I am looking for a location to install the contactor box. I read through a lot of posts regarding newer bikes, and unfortunately, there is NO room under the seat to install it on the older bike. Suggestions specific to this year? Thanks.
I’m disabled person and I’m buying a new 2016 Pioneer. Anyone know were I can find hand controls for the UTV? I have no use of my legs so I have no other choice but the controls. Thanks in advance…:)
Are the 500 renegades clutched differently than the 500 outlander? Looking into clutch kits right now and noticed EPI has seperate kits for the renegades and outlanders. Would using a renegade clutch kit on an outlander offer any performance advantages ? I have the dalton springs right now but looking to get a little more out of it.
I did a quick search and found that these wheelers are known for speedometer problems. My reverse override is still working, awd switch works, rpms are still being read and thats digital.
my actual speedo needle stopped working and what controls that, and what do i need to replace to get it work again?
